Tristan.
Or whatever his name is, decisively aimed his gun at an Agent's head and pulled the trigger. It wasn't a pleasant thing to see when the bullet went through.
I was horrified, putting a hand over my mouth to retain myself from screaming as I watched his blood splattered on the wall behind him, his lifeless eyes staring up at the ceiling. I've never killed anyone before but just defended myself with whatever is possible.
The worst I've ever done to someone was stabbing them, but not severely to kill. The Agent in the dining hall was the first I did it to. It was what you can call, self-defense.
"You know him?" Antonio asked.
I nodded, "Or at least I thought so."
I suddenly thought back about Cece, how Tristan and she were engaged. Did she know that he was this type of person?
"Cecilia. Oh my god." I gasped when a bruised up girl was dragged out by the Agents. I knew exactly who she was.
I wanted to come running to her, hug her until everything was over and tell her that it's going to be okay. But I couldn't do that, it was too late. I can see it in her eyes that she was broken beyond repair.
"Antonio. We have to help her!" I whispered-yelled.
Antonio didn't say anything but his jaw was clenched.
A few tears trickled down my cheeks seeing my best friend like this. She looked so fragile like a house of cards that even with one mere stroke would cause her to cave in.
A not so brilliant idea came into mind but it was the best I've got.
"We can trade," I looked over to Antonio. "Her for me. They want me. Just hand me over to them in exchange for all of this is be over."
"No. Are you stupid? Xavier would cut my dick off if I did that," Antonio hissed.
"What other choice do we have?!" I cried out.
"We'll find a way. A better way." Antonio continued to gaze at Cecilia.
I sniffled, wiping the tears away from my eyes with the back of my hand and recomposed myself. I sighed. And yet I've done it again. Crying is for the weak.
"We could split up to find Xavier," I suggested. "I can manage."
Antonio gave me a long hard look and he hesitantly nodded after a few moments. He reached into his waistband and offered me a gun.
"Take it. It'll be back up if the machine gun runs out."
We discussed our plans, Antonio going back to the dining hall to figure out why exactly the Agents had been sent here for, besides trying to kidnap me and kill Xavier - while I was going the opposite direction to search for him and if 'there's time', I can help Cecilia. We only have once chance with it and the fight was us two against dozens.
I smiled at him before we parted ways, "Good luck Antonio."
"Break a leg." He replied.
________
Guilt coursed through me along with anxiety, it requiring me to chew on my nails anxiously.
I lied to Antonio.
I felt apprehensive about what I had in mind but I wasn't going to risk any other lives today.
