It had now been a few moons since Hazel, Dandelion and Willow had run away from their home.The frightening memories of their mother, Feather, who had been killed by a badger. They had no one left in their family except each other.
The three kits woke up and crawled out of the hollow that they had slept in.
"I'm hungry!" Wailed Hazel.
"Me too." Dandelion and Willow mewed.
"We should find food then." Hazel said, "But we don't know how." A cold breeze ran through the red morning air, tugging at the kits' pelts.
"There were intruders in the training hollow." They heard a cat meow. Slowly, the cats came closer. The kits froze in fear.
"There! There are the intruders!"a large tabby cat screeched.
"Reedwhisker! Those are kits!" Another cat yowled, this one was slightly smaller than the other and its' pelt was white.
"I can see that Feathercloud."
" Hello," Feathercloud mewed."Where are you from?"
"We..um..we are lost." Hazel whispered. All three kits kept their heads down.
"Its alright." Feathercloud said. "Come with us." Reedwhisker's eyes went as wide as sparrows. He began shaking his head wildly. Feathercloud shrugged and lead the three kits through the forest.
"Feathercloud, who is this?" A lean she-cat mewed as the kits and Feathercloud entered a clearing.
"Leafstar! This is Hazel, Dandelion and Willow." She said.
"Well then, welcome to LightningClan." Leafstar mewed. The kits saw many cats in the clearing and some coming out of caves or eating. Then they remembered how hungry they were and started to drool.
"Go get some fresh-kill." Leafstar meowed, nosing the kits towards the pile. Hungrily, the kits ate mouse after mouse and the elders chuckled.
