Hazelpaw woke up and looked around. She was lying in a mossy nest with her back leg stretched out. It was covered in cobwebs,marigold paste and some leaves. She signed. She remembered when the monster hit her.
"Hazelpaw, you barely got away from that. You're lucky that it only hit your leg and didn't run over you."muttered Softfeather.
" Will I still become a warrior?" Hazelpaw asked.
"Maybe...we don't know..." Softfeather turned and took a pouch from a shelf. It was poppyseed. She poured a few onto her paw and let Hazelpaw lick them off. She then changed Hazelpaw's bandages.
Two moons later and Hazelpaw was getting back on her feet. Slowly she was walking around the camp with a limp on her back legs. Her leg had healed well and she was expected to become a warrior in a few moons.
Softfeather thought that Hazelpaw had learnt her lesson but for all she knew this was just the beginning...
