Real Week One

Adrien POV
I woke up, my head on Maris bed. She looked so peaceful.

Wait.....she's still asleep......I had been dreaming. She didn't know I was Chat. But obviously I know she's Ladybug. She never woke up....the Dupain-Chengs aren't pulling the plug yet. It was a dream from my broken heart.

I checked the calendar sitting behind me. Mari has only been asleep for a week. Not bad. Doctors said she should be able to respond and hear people soon, though she might not wake up.

They also said if she goes 5 weeks without responding to a certain friend or family members voice.....she might need to have the plug pulled.

Plagg flew out from my jacket pocket, Tikki flying off of Maris shoulder.

"I hate this." I said. Tikki nodded, looking at Marinette with tears in her eyes.

Plagg placed a reassuring paw on Tikkis shoulder. She looked over at Mari before facing me.

"Adrien what are we gonna do without Ladybug?" She asked, "After all, you cant purify Akumas." She looked at me, but I didn't really notice. I was still staring at the bluenette who lay asleep on the hospital bed.

"He could put them in a jar? Ya know, keep em there until Mari wakes up?" Plagg suggested. He and Tikki began to discuss things I didn't listen to. I thought about Mari. They way I'd fight with her everyday, see her at school and on the night watch.......

But Mari isn't here now. And we don't know if she'll wake up. I couldn't help but wonder, what am I without Mari?

Marinette POV
I woke up, my eyes slowly opening. I turned my head to see Adrien asleep by my arm. He looked so peaceful.

Suddenly, drops sweat began to roll down his forehead, his body shaking in what seemed like fear.

"Adrien?" My voice came out as a whisper and he didn't move at all. I reached out to shake him, but my hand went right through his shoulder.

"What the hell?" I quietly questioned. I got out of the bed and sat by Adrien. How long had I been asleep? How long had Adrien been there? I turned my head back to my pillow and gasped.

I was there. Lying on the bed....cuts and bruises covered my arm and part of my head was bandaged. I tried to hold back a sob.

Was I dead? Am I dying right now?

Adriens head jerked up so suddenly I jumped and fell to the ground.

"I'm so glad you can't see me Agreste!"I yelled. Of course there was no response from him.....he couldn't hear me.

Adrien sighed, wiping his forehead. He turned his head to look at me, his eyes filled with tears.

"Mari." He began. "I had a dream...but it was also a nightmare. You were stuck here for 5 weeks and wouldn't wake up. Your parents wanted to pull the plug so you wouldn't suffer. Alya, Nino, Alix, Kim, Juleka, Rose, Nathaniel, all our classmates came to see you, beautiful. I was the last to say goodbye of your friends". He gently grabbed my hand, well my body's hand. I felt the warmth on my "ghost" hand and my heart fluttered.

"You woke up right as I left the room. And now......your not awake. Mari you've been like this for a week now. Everyone is torn up. Ayla is a crying mess, making Nino a crying mess. Your parents are scared and so am I."
