Chapter 7: Tryouts

Class finished. They explained to Steven and Connie about their plan, they asked if they would like to join but Steven declined because he has something special planned for Connie. The girls made their way to the football field. Pearl, Peridot, Citrine, and Lapis sat at the bleachers as the others went to the coach to start the tryouts. Pearl and Peridot started talking as they waited for tryouts to start.

"Sorry, if we freaked you out earlier when Garnet texted you guys." Pearl said.

"It's fine but how does she do that though."

"It's one of her secrets, it's like she can look into the future. But Garnet likes to say it's magic."

"Okay? So how long you two been together?"

"3 years so far and our 4 year anniversary is on November."

"Wow that's a long time."

"Yup, that's love. When you care for someone and want to be with them for the rest of your life and never leave their side." Pearl said with a dreamy sigh as she is getting lost in her thoughts. Peridot turned around to talk with lapis or Citrine, but Citrine seemed to have a worried look on her face.

"Hey what's wrong, you look worried."

"Oh, it's nothing." She lied and peridot could tell. She looked at her with a stern face. "Ugh, you caught me. It's just I'm a bit worried for Topaz, cause you know football a ruff sport and I know they wear safety gear and all its just I'm worried she might get hurt."

"I never thought about that." All of sudden her mind was filled with thoughts of Amethyst getting hurt or something but her thoughts were interrupted by a whistle. She looked up at the coach, it looks like it was about to start. Amethyst then tied her hair up in ponytail, Peridot started to blush like crazy at the site of Amethyst with her hair up in a pony tail.

'She looks so cute with her hair up like that, too bad she doesn't wear it like that all the time and no that she does she has cover it up with the helmet.' Perdot thought.

As Amethyst went to her position Peridot noticed how short Amethyst is compared to the rest then the thoughts of before came back and she started to worry again. The coach blew the whistle and they were off, tackling each other, passing the ball, but Peridot only had her eyes on Amethyst, as Amethyst was able went head on towards anyone who tried to take her down, and she did all so easy as if it wasn't even a challenge for her. Amethyst now had the ball in hand, there was no one open so Amethyst ran to other side of the field and scored a touch down. Peridot stood up and cheered.

"Yaaahh go Ametyst" Peridot cheered, but quickly realized that she was the only one cheering out of the 4. Citrine smiled and stood up next to Peridot and cheered.

"GO TOPAZ"

then lapis.

"GO JASPER"

Pearl just sat there looking at the girls cheering for her friend's in shock but then smiled and also cheered.

"GO GARNET, YOU CAN DO IT BABE."

Then four girls on the field heard them, they looked up to where the cheering was coming from. Amethyst felt a pang of happiness flow through her as well as another warm feeling, she suddenly was motivated. Jasper couldn't believe that lapis was cheering for her, it wasn't even a game it was just tryouts and yet she still was cheering for her,this motivated her, she was now pumped and ready to give it her all, and maybe show off a little bit to impress lapis. Topaz was completely red under her helmet from blushing at the site of Citrine cheering her on, that ignited a little flame in Topaz she started to play with passion and joy. Garnet was amazed that Pearl was also cheering and happy that she was cheering for her, Pearl normally doesn't yell or cheer unless there's a big crowd but there was no crowd just the people trying out for the football team and them four on the bleachers this made Garnet happy and also motivated her to do her best for her girl. And later she's gonna thank her, but for now she has to finish this game and wait for tryouts to be over before she can run towards pearl and kiss her. The four girls were now playing better than ever, nothing could stop them, they surely will make it on the team. An hour later tryouts were over and after everybody took a shower in the locker rooms they announced who made it on the team. Garnet, Jasper, Amethyst, and Topaz all made it on the team.

"Yaaahh , we made it on the team" Topaz cheered as she ran towards Cirtrine to give her a hug. Garnet also ran up to pearl and picked her up, and twirled her in the air and gave her a kiss on the lips.

"Yeah, thanks to you guys cheering us on." Jasper said.

"But why were you cheering for us it wasn't a game or anything it was just the tryouts." Amethyst asked.

"Yeah, how come?" Topaz said.

"We just wanted to cheer you guys on that's all. And from what we saw it helped." Lapis said.

"Thanks, it did." Jasper said looking at lapis.

"Yeah we saw you guys were on fire. Ya did great." Peridot complemented.

"Okay so now that we're done here." Amethyst started. "Let's figure out where we're going."

"Let's go eat some pizza to celebrate." Jasper said. Everyone agreed

"And how about after that we all go see a movie. How does that sound?" Garnet added.

"Sound like a nice plan let's do it." Peridot said.

It was settled they go out to eat pizza and then go to the movie theater.
