Chapter 11: The 'Date'

Narrator POV

They were walking down the street's eating ice cream. There was an uncomfortable silence, and it's a long way back to Peridot's house, so Amethyst decide to break the ice.

"Hey so are we up for tomorrow at the park to finish the drawing."

"Oh, yeah, what time was it again?" Peridot asked a bit embarrassed that she forgot the time, but in her defense her mom called her when they were deciding on the time.

"12:30"

"Ok" Peridot took out her phone and made an alarm for 10:30 and another one at 12:10. The first one for she could start getting ready, and the second one for when she is gonna leave, because the walk from her house to the park is 20 minutes long.

"What 'cha doing?" Amethyst asked leaning in towards Peridot to see what she was doing on her phone.

"Just setting up a reminder."

"So does that mean we're meeting up at 12:30 tomorrow?" Peridot hummed in reply. "Cool, it's a date then." Peridot immediately looked up, Amethyst noticed this. "As friends, like hanging out together not a date-date." Peridot calmed down a little at the explanation but felt a bit upset as well, but she didn't know why.

"Okay." It got quite again and the atmosphere was even more awkward and uncomfortable than before. Amethyst was thinking on a topic they could talk about.

"So what are you into?"

"I'm into science and engineering, I like to build stuff, like robots, I've build two robonoides." Peridot answered nonchalantly.

"Really, that's cool you should show them to me oneday." Amethyst said impressed and excited.

"Maybe I'll bring one tomorrow to the park to show you."

"Yeah!!! You totally should!"

They continued happily talking all the way until they made it to Peridot's house, they were having such a good time they didn't want to end it now. It was 9:00 and Amethyst had to be heading home so she couldn't stay to hangout, but then Amethyst got an idea.

"Hey, give me you're phone number for we can talk." The lavender haired girl offered, Peridot took her phone out and gave her phone number to Amethyst and Amethyst gave hers to Peridot. Amethyst put her as

"Nerd 👽💚"

"Okay, all done. Well, I guess I should be heading home now, Bye."

"Wait, is there anything I should bring tomorrow?" The blondegirl asked.

"Just you're pretty face. And that robonoide thing of your's." She turned around and started walking down the street to her house. Peridot just stood there looking at Amethyst as she walked away, blushing. But then she turned away and went inside her house, where she was greeted by a warm loving hug from her mother.

"Hi sweetie, I was starting to get worried about you. I don't like you out there this late." Her mother let go of her and gave her a kiss on her forehead.

Yellow diamond never likes to go out at night since 'the incident' happened. Since that day she doesn't go out as much at night in fact she doesn't even go out at all at night, nor does she like her daughter out at this time either.

"I know, I'm gonna go to sleep. Night mom." She said as she headed up the stairs.

"Goodnight Peridot." Her mother called up to her. She looked all the doors in the house and went up to go to sleep as well.

Peridot was about to go to sleep, but saw she had a new message on her phone. It was from Amethyst.

The next day Peridot woke up as she normally does, with her mother gently shaking her awake announcing breakfast. Peridot got up and went to the bathroom she brushed her teeth, fixed her hair a bit and went down to eat breakfast. Her mother made pancakes with blueberries bacon and eggs.

Peridot finished eating and went up to her room, she checked the time. "10:00" she has 2 hours and 10 minutes to get ready. She went and turned off the 10:30 alarm and went to take a shower. "10:30" the alarm would have been going off right now. She went to her closet to choose something to wear, but today she didn't just put on the first thing she see's, she felt like wearing something nice to go see Amethyst. She knows it isn't a date but she feels like dressing up a bit to go see Amethyst. She decided to go with a purple shirt and a green flannel and a pair of jeans. "11:00". She brushed her hair. And went to get one of her robonoides to show Amethyst, she programed it and made it to follow her. "11:50", she should be heading out soon. Peridot then got a message from Amethyst.

A: hey I got us some donuts. I got you a special one I know you will like.

P: k, as long as it doesn't have strawberry, I can't stand it, except the fruit itself.

A: no worries, it doesn't

P: k

Peridot went out her house and started heading to the park.

Amethyst POV

I can wait to get to the park and meet peri.I decided to wear my favorite jeans that had a star shaped rip on the knees and a purple hoodie with the top green. I grab my notepad, pencil and crayons and I'm ready to go.

"Mom, I'm going out." I yelled walking down the stairs.

"Okay, have fun." Mom said she gave me hug, we said goodbye, and I left. While walking down the road I saw the big donut 'eh.. why not.' I thought. I went inside and saw Sadie, but lars wasn't there, typical when does he ever work, just makes Sadie do all his work for him.

"Hey, Amethyst, the usual?"

"Nah, not today, I'm hanging out with a friend today."

"Alright, what would it be."

"Hmmm, give me sec."

'I already know what I want but what about Peridot what would she like. Maybe I should get something with mint flavor I know she likes that since that's what she got yesterday at the ice cream parlour.'

I look over to the side and see a donut kinda resembles a triangle, with mint icing and green and purple sprinkles, the green ones were shaped like a triangle and the purple nest where round.

"I'll have this one" I point to the green triangle donut. "And the donut that has an oreo on top of it."

"Okay, got it." She took the donuts out and placed them in a bag. "So who are you hanging out with today? Jasper,? Topaz? Citrine?"

"No her names Peridot she's a new friend of mine."

"Peridot diamond?" She asked if nod my head as to say yes. "She's in my science class." She handed me the bags with donuts, I gave her the money. "Tell her I said 'hi'."

"Sure." I called back. I started heading towards the park.

Aaaaaaand I'm ending the chapter there I wanted to update today and if I wrote the whole thing this would be the longest chapter I've ever done, so I'm making this into 2 parts.
