I yawned and rolled out of bed, well the couch but whatever. I stood up and stretched stiffly. Staggering forward in the dark, I tripped over something and caught myself on the wall, I fumbled around for a second till I found a candle and a book of matches. It was early morning, I knew the dwarves wanted to be rid of this place by sunrise, so I started down stairs to get myself something to drink then I would wake the girls then have them get the dwarves up while I started breakfast. I looked at the clock, it read three thirty, the sun would be up in two hours.
“Oh great, so much for breakfast.” I mumbled. I woke Vivi up. She groaned and turned her head to the other side. I kicked her hard in her shin and she sat upright, glaring at me.
“What?” She hissed.
“Are you coming or not?”
“Yes.”
“Then get up!” I said, yanking her to her feet. She took an unsteady step then glared at me again. “Now go wake up your eye candy, he’ll be better at waking his dwarves than us.”
“Thorin is not my eye candy.” She snapped. “I simply stated that he was a handsome dwarf with an intriguing personality.”
“Yeah? Well you were almost swooning over him last night.” There was a brief moment of silence, and then she punched me in the shoulder and kicked me in the shin. “OW! What was that for?!” I whisper yelled at her.
“I didn’t swoon over him!” She whisper yelled back at me. I kicked her in her shin and the next thing I knew I was running down stairs dodging pillows, boots, books, and anything else she could throw at me. I hit the wall and saved a lamp from being shattered; I set it up right, nodded, and then took off down the hall for the kitchen to grab something to protect myself with, whether it would be a butcher knife or a rolling pin I hadn’t decided yet. In order to safely get to the kitchen I ducked into the living room to take the short cut. I stopped dead in my tracks and stared open mouthed at the sight in front of me. The candle flickered in my hand; Vivi came tromping down the hall. She bumped me on purpose, making me almost drop the candle. I caught it in my hand, the hot wax running down my wrist and palm, suppressed a yell and pointed to the living room for her to see. I set the candle down and blew on my hand. Vivi came back to see what I was pointing at. When she saw it her eyes widened and her jaw dropped, then her lips curled into a smile.
“YES! YES! She’s finally done it! Yes!” Vivi started doing a little dance in the middle of the living room.
“Oh, my, god.” I said, smiling. She’d done it! She’d finally done it! I was beyond happy for her, I was… ecstatic! Once the shock of what it meant wore off I got just as excited as Vivi! We had clasped our hands and were smiling wildly like ten year old girls who just got their first crush… awkward comparison but it looked exactly like it! She had done it! She had claimed!
They were laying on the loveseat, both asleep, her and Kili. She was lying with her back against his chest and stomach, head resting on his shoulder. His arms were wrapped around her, hands enlaced in hers. Her silver hair tumbled over her shoulder, giving her a very innocent look, the scratches from that night were still there, though, and the dark circles from her lack of sleep had disappeared. He was propped up against the arm rest, one of his legs was bent, and foot flat on the seat cushion, the other was out straight, preventing her from rolling off.
