"Is it my fault?" I begged as he shakes his head in annoyance and left.
Breaking up during exams should be illegal. Breaking up should be a crime. Imagine the stress and emotions when dealing with a breakup and academic pressure.
Life hates me. That's it.
It's complete bullshit.
At one point, everyone turned their back from me. People treated me as if I was some disease that they should avoid. My family abandoned me because of one mistake, out of the hundred right things I have done to please them.
"I need you to stop daydreaming so we can get back to work." I blinked, and then I was suddenly back to reality.
"I wasn't daydreaming." I scoffed.
"Yea, tell that to the ceiling you have been having a staring contest with." My friend sighs and looks at me.
"Sorry. I was preoccupied. When is the deadline of this paper?" I looked back at the person behind me.
He looks up with his eyebrows pulled down together, "Today. Stop bothering me." He slumped back on his seat.
I turned my head and looked at my laptop.
Blank.
My friend raised her head and sighed as loud as she can. "It's due today, miss, and if you don't pull yourself together, we will not be able to get out of this hell on earth."
"Are you okay?" A little deep voice uttered behind me. I looked behind me, and there he is, eyes wide, with concern evident in his eyes.
"Yes, Kyungsoo, I'm okay." I forced a smile. He smiled back, and I knew he wasn't satisfied with my answer, but I guess he didn't want to push me.
Kyungsoo's one of my best friends here in college. We have been friends since high school, but our friendship bloomed in college. He is a quiet person, so sometimes we tend to sit in silence when we're together. I'm not complaining, though. The silence is comforting.
I grabbed my phone on the desk and was greeted with zero notifications.
He still hasn't called.
Are we really done?
"You know, looking at your phone will not change the fact that that jerk left you." My friend likes to nag me so much—but I know it's her way of expressing her concern and looking out for me.
"I guess you're right." I sighed in defeat.
