SUZY

The ride to the mall was loud. He couldn't stop talking about his dogs and, most importantly, his cases. I honestly am not surprised about that, considering that he still hasn't changed. Many interesting ones actually made me turn to him and respond besides nodding and smiling.

After Sehun and I's petty fight, I felt like my energy was all out. I don't particularly appreciate fighting. And Sehun and I rarely fight, so this is all weird to me.

Baekhyun parked inside the mall's car park and near the entrance so that we wouldn't have to walk far afterward.

I sighed before going out of the car. It's just a friendly gesture.

But for starters, are we even friends?

I don't even know why he's acting as nothing has happened between us.

I went inside the mall and waited for him by the entrance. He told me he forgot something, so he went back to the car.

Looking around, there weren't many people inside, maybe because the residents here prefer the outdoors rather than shopping. Unlike Seoul, where you can literally bump into everyone you know in a span of one hour inside malls.

"Let's go?" My thoughts were interrupted when Baekhyun spoke next to me. I nodded and followed him inside a formal clothing shop.

I sat on the round couch in the middle of the shop. Baekhyun went around and spoke to the staff about his shopping decisions.

Why am I even here?

"Hey, what's the theme for the wedding again?" I looked up and saw Baekhyun holding two tuxedos in different colors.

One was neutral tones, and the other had a darkish blue color.

"Are you not the best man of the groom?" I rolled my eyes before answering.

"Oh, come on. This is the reason why I dragged you here," He stated, waving the clothes near me.

"It's this one. The motif is neutral colors," I stated and examined the suit.

"Can we look for a different design? But with the same tone of colors." I asked the staff. He quickly nodded and motioned us to follow him.

While I was mix and matching clothes, Baekhyun was intently looking at each suit and shirt that I pulled from the rack.

He was staring at me and the mirror while choosing a style for him the whole time.

After an hour, I've finally chosen the best outfit for him.

I love doing fashion. I actually wanted to pursue fashion but was demotivated by my family once they found out. So, I picked the next best thing that an Asian family would consider—a doctor.

After he paid for the clothes, he suggested that we eat before going back to the hotel.

"What do you want to eat?" He asked while looking around the area of restaurants.

"I'm craving some ramen," I blurted out. I haven't eaten since we left Seoul, and I was starving.

Baekhyun smiled and pulled my hand inside a ramen restaurant. The place was a little dim, and there were many people inside since it was dinner time already.

We sat on a booth and ordered. The booth's chairs were high, so we were covered up. The only way you could see us was by actually stepping in front of us.

After the waiter wrote down our orders, there was this awkward silence that enveloped us.

I was staring at the utensils in front of me since I couldn't look around to distract myself from this awkwardness.

Baekhyun cleared his throat.

I looked up and saw him staring at me. He looked like he wanted to tell me something.

"What is it?" I asked him.

He stopped playing with his utensils before speaking.

"Are you okay?" Baekhyun asked. His eyes were full of concern; I don't even know if it's sincere.

"Yes," I said shortly. But Baekhyun was the type of person who wouldn't easily let something go. In his mind, he has to know what's going on.

"You don't look fine to me." He stated.

I looked down and back up at him again and sighed. There's no way that I could change this subject. Knowing him, he's very persistent.

"Sehun and I just had a petty fight,"

"Ooh, you don't like it if you're on bad terms with someone." He concluded.

"Uh- wait, who's Sehun?" He added.

"My boyfriend," I told him. His expression changed. I don't know why I suddenly got nervous at his reaction. Was it right that I told him?

"Oh, you got a boyfriend." He said with his voice trailing away.

I nodded in response.

We went silent for a while before he spoke again.

"So, what happened between the two of you?" He curiously asked, playing with his fork.

"It was just a minor fight," I said.

"You wouldn't get mad for no valid reason, Suzy." I glanced at him.

He still knows me.

"He spent an entire day with a woman whom he had just met. It sounds too immature, but the least he could do was to inform me about his whereabouts, am I right?" I said.

He nodded. "Yeah, you're right,"

"Also, he got mad at me for making it a big deal. How can I not make this a big deal?" I reasoned out.

Baekhyun was intently listening to all I had to rant about.

"It is a big deal." He said with a tone.

"Just because we have the same last name doesn't mean he's bound to confuse us both." I rolled my eyes and drank my water. My anger was firing up just by thinking about it.

"What same last name are you talking about?"

"The woman he was with."

"What's her last name?"

"Duh, of course, it's Bae," He stopped.

"Bae?"

"Yes. Why?"

"You mean, Irene?"

"Who's Irene?" I asked, confused.

"Her name is Joohyun. I don't think we're referring to the same person." He looked at me.

"What?" I asked again because he wasn't speaking nor moving. He was looking at me.

"Who's Irene?" I repeated.

"Bae Joohyun. Her name's Irene." Baekhyun corrected.

"Oh really? I didn't know that. Do you know her? Who is she?"

He hesitated before he answered.

"My fiancé."
