SUZY

"Do you want me to invite him?" I looked up from my paper works and read the invitation's recipient.

Atty. Byun Baekhyun

I read.

I played with the pen in my hand and looked up at Sooyoung. "Babe, it's your wedding. You can invite anyone you want," I reassured her.

I'll be okay. It's just a wedding. In an exclusive island. With less than thirty people. Yeah, I'll be fine.

"But I want my bridesmaid to enjoy my wedding as well." She reasoned out. I felt guilty at how she stresses herself with little things like this.

Sooyoung is here in my office sorting out invitations since I'll be in charge of sending them out. Jennie's still in her laboratory finishing up some work, like me, before we leave for Sooyoung's wedding. We don't want to leave any unfinished work for us to have some fun.

"Sooyoung, it's okay. I swear." I said, almost sounding as if I'm convincing her to invite him.

She hesitated for a while before placing it in the mailing box.

"Fine, but just don't mind him, okay?" I let out a small chuckle at how her mom-like attitude pops out of nowhere.

"You'll be a great mother, you know?" I said. She glanced at me and smiled.

I sighed and buried myself in the paper works.

I don't know Chanyeol very well. All I know is they have been together for quite some time now. It's the longest relationship Sooyoung has ever been in, and it ended in marriage, so I am really happy for her.

And oh, I know he's friends with Baekhyun. That's as far as I know him since Sooyoung and I haven't had enough time to catch up because we're both busy working, plus she lives two hours away from Seoul.

I glanced at my computer screen when I saw it lit up. I checked the email reports sent by the interns and closed the tab. I noticed an extra opened tab and clicked it to see what it was.

My eyes widened when it loaded into the P&B Law Firm website. I must've forgotten to close it. Because of it, I remembered the last thing I saw from Baekhyun's information page about his educational background.

I scrolled down again and confirmed my memory.

Seoul National University Graduate School of Law, LL. M.

I glanced up at Sooyoung. Maybe she knows something since Chanyeol is friends with Baekhyun.

I cleared my throat. "So, when I finalized your wedding guests, of course, I had to do a little background check on every person on the guest list." I started.

I looked at her expression before I continued, "I noticed at Baekhyun's educational background that he graduated in a law school uhm here, in Seoul, when I thought he left the country to pursue his law studies abroad," I reasoned out.

She didn't bother to look up from sorting the invitations and replied. "Oh, yeah, no, he did leave the country for unknown reasons, but Chanyeol told me that Baekhyun moved back when everything was clear, I don't know,"

What is she talking about?

"I don't get you," I said. She looked at me and sighed when she notices that I wasn't satisfied with her answer.

She sets down the invitations she was holding, "Babe, if I knew, I'd tell you." Sooyoung reassured me and then went back to her invitations.

She kept on asking me if she would invite this person or that person, but her words weren't registering in my mind. I can hear her, but I can't understand her.
