Chapter 10
About a month later and still no news on what really happened to my mom. Even though it's so fucking obvious who's responsible. I have a cold not that bad, just a runny nose and a pounding headache. Not only is my birthday coming up but Halloween too. It's Saturday and I'm home by myself. My dad has a late shift and Chris is at some college party, and Robin is out with her "guy" but whatever. I want her to be happy obviously but doesn't mean it doesn't hurt, to see her with somebody else. I got a text, "Oh it's, Robin."
Robin: 7:35pm
Hey, any better yet?
Me: 7:35pm
Nope, aren't you on a date?
Robin: 7:39pm
I was but I had to check up on my bestie. :)
Me: 7:40pm
Thx, :) I'm okay just pretty tired.
Robin: 7:42pm
Are you hungry?
I heard my door bell ring, I really didn't wanna get up. It rang again, "Ughh, I'm coming." I opened-
"Surprise." It was Robin, with a bag. I stepped aside to let her in.
"Hey, what're you doing here. Not that I'm complaining."
"Thought I bring you some soup, and since you said your home alone, some company as well." I smiled at her, I couldn't ask for a better friend. We went into the living, I switched the tv on. "I'll go heat this up." I cuddled up on the couch. She came back. "Feet up." She wanted to sit on the end where my feet were. I lifted my feet she sat down and then she positioned my feet on her lap.
"Comfy?"
"Yup." Haha, she's so odd but I love her for it. In a non-romantic way, obviously. "Here, it's hot just so you know." I grabbed the soup, the smell wasn't that bad because sometimes when I'm sick I can barely stand any smell. We were watching a movie, called Warm Bodies great movie by the way.
"Thank you for the soup, but as comfy this couch is, my bed is comfier. You are more than welcome to, sleepover."
"Thanks and goodnight."
"Goodnight." I went upstairs with a raging headache.
I woke up surprisingly warmer, I turned over and felt something hard. "What the-" It was Robin she was sleeping on the other side. I climbed over her slowly, trying not to wake her. My cold was gone, thanks to Robin, probably the soup. I went to go brush my teeth. Lately, I've been trying to find out what really happened to my mom. And no one knows what I'm doing, not even my dad.
But eventually, I'm going to have to, tell someone. Because on Friday, when I was coming home from school I honestly felt like I was being followed. I went downstairs to see my dad cooking breakfast. "Morning Dad." He turned around, he smiled at me.
"Good Morning honey, hungry?"
"Yeah I am but I gotta go to the mall today, winter is coming and I need some new boots."
"Do you need money because-"
"Oh no, I got paid on Friday but I probably should get going now because I really don't wanna be there all day." He nodded, I felt bad because he has a day off and now that...my mom's not here it's different. I went upstairs to see Robin awake, "Hey, morning." She was wearing glasses, first time I've seen them. Cute
