Chapter 12
"Elle, wait up." Robin was calling for me to slow down, I was on my way to work. She finally caught up to me. "Cmon, I said I was sorry." I was still a little upset, that she lied to me. "Elle? Please, talk to me." We were approaching the subway. Something else from last night kept replaying in my head, so I was also distracted by that too. Finally got on the train. We sat in silence.
The train finally made it to my destination, the cafe is like two minutes away. "Look, you don't have to talk to me. But, I can't stand the thought of you hating me." I stopped and tried to wonder why she would say that. I turned to her.
"I could never hate you, Robin. I-" I almost slipped up and said something revealing. "Okay, look. To be honest, I was a little upset that you ditch me yesterday and lied about it." I could see guilt in her eyes. I pulled her into a hug, she was a little shocked at first but then she hugged me right back. I pulled back, "I gotta get to work, um how are you gonna get home?"
"I'll just take a Uber." It was chilly outside, I could see she was shivering.
"Alright, but come wait inside for it. Don't want you to catch a cold." She nodded.
Robin left and I think we hashed some things out, which is good. The lying, she admitted was unnecessary. And I told her, she could tell me anything, all I want for her is to be happy. The day felt like it was dragging on forever. I wanted to get out of here before, the trick or treating started. I can already see the sun going down. "Hey Vin, is it alright I head out early?"
"Yeah, no problem." I went to go change out of my uniform.
"Alright, see ya tomorrow."
"Hey, um Michelle be careful out there. You know, weirdo's and stuff especially today." I nodded to reassure him, then I left out.
I made it to my street to get home, and to my surprise I see people coming in and out of my house. And I could hear loud music, "Is that? Coming from my house?" As I got closer to my house the music got louder, and people were dressed in costumes. "What the hell is going on?" I entered my house and saw people bumpin and grindin on each other. "Ew, Ew. What are you doing, stop it." I was trying to get people's attention. No one paid any mind to me.
"Chris?" I saw Chris dressed as Tarzan dancing on some girl. I tapped him "I should have known you did this?!" He looked at me confused and pointed to his ear.
"What! I can't hear you over this music!" You can't hear me but I can hear you. He then continued to dance with the girl. I grabbed his arm and dragged him outside. "Mickey, what's your damage?" I crossed my arms.
"Really, Chris?! You throw a party at my-"
"Wait, think I threw this party."
"What are you talking about, who-" Then I remember, my so-called Cousin is staying for the week. "You know what nevermind, just help me get these people out of here." We went back inside and I went to unplugged the speakers. The coward got upset. "Alright! Everybody out!" I shooed people out. "You ain't gotta go home, but you gotta get the hell up outta here.
People were eventually out of my house, I saw some couple making out in my kitchen. "Aw, cmon we eat there. Go, get out." I think that was everybody. Chris also left. The only person I can think of being responsible for this is nowhere to be found. I heard a car door slam. "That must be him." He came through the door with beer. "Of course."
"Hey, where's the party people at?" As he got closer to me, I could smell that he reeked of alcohol.
"There is no party and did you really drive drunk?!"
"Don't judge me because you don't know how to have a good time." A good time?! This dude is a joke, he was slurring his words. "Your such a panzie just like your mother." I can't believe he just said that. I walked away before I did anything I'll regret. "Hey! Don't you walk away from me." I nearly made it up the stairs and he grabbed my arm.
"Let! Me! Go!"
"You listen here, bitch!" I slapped him in the face. He looked stunned by it. He then tightened his grip on my arm, but I fought him and kick him where it hurts. He fell down the stairs, he hit his head.
"Oh my god?!" I was panicking, I didn't know what to do. So I called 911.
The cops came and got my statement, he hit his head pretty hard but not enough to kill him. He was taken to the hospital with one hand, handcuffed on the railing bed. I saw a black SUV pull up to my house, it was Robin. She ran up to me. "Hey, you alright. What happened?"
"Yeah, I'm fine just a little shaken up. But I'm alright." She came to sit sown next to me and pulled me into a hug. "Wait, what are you doing here?"
"I was coming to see how we were since this afternoon, and-"
"Sorry to interrupt-" It was an officer. "-but, Ms. Riverson, do you have a place to stay tonight?"
"I-
"Yes she does, she can stay with me, my parents are back and they'll totally be okay with it." The officer nodded. I looked over at Robin, "What?" I smiled a little.
"Nothing it's just, your always saving my ass." She smiled.
We finally got to her house, and man did I need a shower. I followed Robin upstairs, "Okay, you are staying in the guest room again. Is that okay?"
"Yeah, more than I could ever ask for." I went and got situated in the guest room. The tub was calling my name, "Wow, this bathroom looks bigger than I remembered." I ran some bath water and added bath bubbles. Then I lit a few candles, I was sore from the day. When I stepped into the water it felt so good and relaxing. "Nice, this is nice." I tied my hair up and laid my head back on a rolled up towel. Then closed my eyes.
"Looks like someone's relaxed."
"Oh hey, Rob-" I opened my eyes and saw someone unexpected to be here. "Um, what are you doing here?
A/N: They made up, yay. But, kinda makes you wonder what Michelle almost let slip out. Party, whoa Cousin Kevin and Violence. Who saw that coming? *cough* *cough* I did. And Robin, saving the day, what a great friend. Um, yeah who is this unexpected person standing in the bathroom with Michelle? Hmm. Any feedback is good feedback. Thanks For Reading.
