Bridges.
"So here's the deal Darius. We need to start moving around this country with this charity. Over the two years of your Christopher's Wings Campaign, you have raised over $8.2 million dollars. We can actually start offering care, like medicare, to different hospitals. I don't know if you know, but you have saved several lives for a couple middle class patients. These twin brothers that were shot in the chest, were able to get the bullets removed after being on the breathing tube for six months. The young man that was shot in the back by a stray bullet just last week, was able to go in immediate surgery. Stopping him from paralyzation. It's many more lives that have been saved but I'll be telling for years if I keep going. Out of all investments I worked with, I'd have to say this one is one of best I looked into." Stephan, my investor chuckles.
My charity has sparked a lot of buzz, and my investor wants to talk expanding. Like he said, we've raised $8.2 million dollars for the low income families who can't afford Medicare. To me that is just awesome and breath taking. The whole reason for this was because I know how my parents struggled when I got hit. Tuition was getting paid for by a scholarship, but money was tight when my moms had a cancer scare. She had found a lump around the same time of my shooting. Of course we have life insurance, but a lot of things had to come out of pocket. That's when I came up with idea, so parents wouldn't have to watch their sons or daughters die. We're suppose burry them not them burying us.
"Damn. That's crazy and a lot of money." We both laugh and nod his assistant brings us both waters.
"Yea, people are going to the hospital and saying they have Darius insurance. It's crazy. I really think we should look into investing in a couple of hospitals." I nod and throw my water back like a shot.
"Yea we can do that. If we're saving lives, that's definitely something to look into. I didn't want to just stay in Chicago." He nods and opens up a book, clicking his pen.
"I've already talked to a couple states. Some liked the idea, others didn't but I got you in a couple states. Texas, Florida, California, New York, Maine, Detroit and Mexico. We got a call from Canada as well. Toronto wants to meet with us ASAP."
"Ok. Set up a meeting and just let me know when we need to fly out." I tell him.
"Will do. Is there anything else you wanted to invest in?" Stephan questions as he writes down some things.
"If I have some ideas. I'll tell you, but I'm good off my end." I explain, standing to my feet. Stephan nods and we shake hands, pulling back. Alicia stands up and follows me out the office as we make our way to the exit. Alicia explaining some things to me.
"You need to throw a party to announce the money raised. A money raising party maybe, I don't know you figure it out. Invite some celebrities, a-listers please. You have time to rest up, but you have to be downtown at 7:30 for this honoree event. Make sure Deanda is with you." She demands.
"She has a dinner with that investor so she can't come." I inform and we board the elevator. Javier and Heem standing in front of us.
"A dinner with who? Angel Price, the billionaire?" She questions for confirmation. I nod and sigh, leaning on the wall as I look at the numbers lower to the designated floor.
"Not on my watch. She will be with you at the dinner." Alicia assures, typing something on her phone.
"Good luck with trying to persuade her with that." I scoff and shake my head as we exit the elevator.
"What is that suppose to mean?"
"It means once her mind is made up, you can't change it. Especially when it comes to money." I shrug, signing a couple autographs.
