"I said sorry!" I grumbled to the backseat of my car, where Zach pouted with a black eye.
"You did provoke her" Jeffery pointed out, a grin on his face. Angelica has ripped me away early from my shift, leaving me to be squished in between the two boys.
This of course led to introductions. Zach was the guy I hit, who had known everyone since high school. Jeffery was Angelica's brother, and found the situation quite hilarious. Alex however glared at me from the front seat, glancing over to Zach in his state. I shifted uncomfortably, leaning more on Jeffery than Zach.
"Shut up Shits and Giggles" Zach grumbled as he entered an even deeper state of pouting. Ever since I threw the box of ceral, Zach acted like I shot his dog before shooting his foot.
At least if I shot his foot, maybe he would shut up.
Angelica on the other hand, kept a hand on the wheel as she searched through the radio channels.
Bitch Better Have My Money by Rihanna screamed over the radio. Scoffing, Alexandria changes the channel, "No, you're the last person who needs to hear a song like that."
Before Angelica could even snap back, a song blasted onto the radio:
Just a small town girl
Livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train
Goin' anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train
Goin' anywhere
Instantly our group busted out into song. Jeffery reached over me, so he could shake his sister into singing.
A singer in a smokey room
The smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on, and on, and on
Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching
In the night
Streetlight people
Livin' just to find emotion
Hidin' somewhere in the night
At this time, all of us were screaming the lyrics along, some voices sounding good, and others sounded like a donkey.
Workin' hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win
Some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on, and on, and on
"Uh. Angelica, I think you missed the turn" I voiced out as we whipped pass a speed limit sign, which said the speed limit was higher than what we were doing. Turning down the song to a whisper, Angelica grips the wheel.
