After a day of yelling at Jeffery for making me drink Cuban coffee, I fell into a deep sleep.
However, yet again I awoke to the screaming of Abeula, along with the singing of Angelica.
Groaning, I pressed my pillow over my head. Even thought I slept in, I still felt the effects of a caffeine crash. Luckily, instead of getting grumpy over the two girls singing, the smell of food seethed into the room and as well as my nostrils.
Yawning, I got up before walking out into the kitchen.
Rubbing my eye, I didn't pay attention. With a short screech, Angelica jumped back with a hot pan. My eyes widened, fully awakening me.
"Oh mein Gott!" I screech, my words slurring with an accent as I jump back.
"You're awake!" Angelica cheers before looking at me. A small smile on her lips turns into a laugh, causing me to look down. Was there drool on my pajamas?
There wasn't drool, but a Pooh. My pajamas consisted of the face of Winnie The Pooh.
I looked up, to only see a laughing Jeffery and Angelica, making my face flush deeply.
However, the topic went from my sleepwear to the wonderful smell. "I'm starving" I say as my stomach yelps in agreement "It smells wonderful".
With his hair knotted in curls, Jeffery moved to my side. He arm snaked around my waist, pulling me to him. "Luckily, cooking is one of the few things Angelica can do" he says smoothly, making his sister glare at him.
"¡y bailando!" Abeula calls out. A laugh bubbles from Jeffery.
Looking at him for a translation, he said "And dancing, but she got that from me".
"I'm older than you Jeffery!" Angelica calls as she grabs a few plates and sets them down onto the table. Moving away from Jeffery's arm, I sit down.
My eyes look over the food, it was unlike anything I've ever eaten before. Usually I would have breakfast brotworsts with an array of other meats and cheeses to put on a roll. And if I was lucky, a banana pancake or two.
"Is everything alright?" Angelica asks, clearly noticing my confused face.
"Well, I usually eat German or American food." I say grimly sticking out my tongue "What is this?".
However, Jeffery sat down and slid his chair next to mine. "That's chorzio con huevos, basically sausage and eggs.".
Then, moving his finger, he pointed to another thing "That's magu , it's mashed up plantains with butter and it is the best thing in the world. I would marry it if I could" Jeffery sighs.
As his finger moved to the next thing, Angelica beat him to explaining it.
