INCOMING PHONE CALL FROM UNKNOWN

"it's logan."

"hi logan, it's matt. you told me to call when i had made up my mind."

"oh, yeah."

"i can't take care of a kid right now, i'm sorry. i have the money and all, but i don't have the time. i don't want to be one of those fathers who never sees their kid, logan. i'm sorry."

"i guess it's okay, don't worry about it."

"will you raise the kid? just curious."

"i don't know. i googled abortions yesterday, and i don't know. i will probably schedule one later. i don't think i could be a single mom, it didn't work out well for my aunt and i don't want to end up like her."

"what happened to your aunt?"

"her daughter hated her for not giving her a fair chance, for not giving her a father. my cousin searched for her father for years, and it killed her in the end. my aunt got a phone call from elle, and she heard her die. she had gotten stabbed and robbed, and my aunt blamed herself to suicide. i don't want to end up like that."

"logan, that won't happen."

"you don't know that, matt. you really don't. i'm getting an abortion."

"okay. do you want me to come with you? there's a clinic here in toronto, i think."

"okay, the sooner the better, i guess."

"if you had the kid, it would love you, logan. i don't know you at all, but my friend loves your style and she tells me that you're lovely."

"that's nice of her, but i can't raise a child by myself. i'm going to google clinics here in toronto, i'll call you later."

"okay. bye, logan."
