Chapter Four - Questions Ask For Answers, Danger Mode
We made it to the school. Everyone was coming in at once but Jamie parked in the same spot as yesterday. We all got out of the car and everyone stared at us. I think I was the only one who noticed.
"Emily, is it okay if I take Ashley to her class?" Sophia asked.
"Ashley is that okay with you?" I asked her.
"Sure." She said.
"Don't worry she won't bite." Jamie mentioned.
"Nice Jamie." Sophia commented sarcastically. "Well we better get moving."
"Okay." Ash said softly.
"I'll get you at the end of the day." I told her.
"K." She replied.
Sophia and Ash walked off and Jamie nudged me.
"We have fifteen minutes till class." He told me. "What do you want to do?"
"First I want to get out of this cold."
He nodded.
We walked in to the school. People were still staring, which bothered me a lot. I never really thought this much could happen in just a day. I have two friends, I'm already the weirdo in school, I get distracted in class, I found out I was adopted and also someone almost kidnapped me. Yeah sounds great. All in one day.
"Can I ask you something?" I asked while we got to my locker.
"Something or some things?"
"You're right 'things'." I corrected.
"What's your first?" He asked.
"How'd you know my wrist was going to be broken?"
" . . . I didn't." He said slowly
"But you put 'call me tomorrow morning' and you had to put that in yesterday morning or during lunch."
"I was going to ask you if you wanted a ride anyway."
"Why? You hardly know me. I could be one of the top murders for all you know."
"If you were, you would have taken down that guy in Wal-Mart."
"Still." I whispered.
"Well I guess you're different from other girls." He continued on.
"Different?"
What is he talking about? What, am I stranger than the rest?
"You know, you don't act like the others." Jamie said.
"What am I a weirdo?" I asked him.
"You know what I mean."
"No, no I don't know what you mean."
