Chapter Eight - Movie Surprise
It was ten min before six o'clock and neither Sophia nor Taylor is here. Ashley is upstairs in my room watching TV, so that's good. She doesn't know I was supposed to be babysitting. Don't worry Sophia will be here.
Something tapped my shoulder. I jerked around fast.
"Sophia, don't do that." I said scared.
She smiled. "Sorry." She set Taylor on the couch. He was out of it. "Jamie changed his memory from today. When he wakes up he won't remember us. He'll think everything went according to his plans with you . . . Are you okay?"
"Yeah I'm doing better."
"How you doing with the whole wolf thing?"
"Still a little in shock." Which I was. I would have never suggested wolves in my past life. There is still so much I haven't learned about it.
"When I first found out, I fainted. I thought things could never exist like that. So for you to be in shock is good."
There was a knock. Sophia was gone in a second and Taylor's eyes flew open.
"Looks like your brother is here." I said to him.
He sat up and started staring.
All I could think about is get this boy out of my house. I went to the door about to open it. My hand started to shake. I was nervous. What if Taylor's memory goes away and he remembers what really happened. I need to snap out of it. Act natural. If I'm too nervous Riley might notice something is up. Why did Jamie tell me all this? Hopefully Sophia is around if something goes wrong. Wouldn't matter anyway. No wolves' powers work against tigers.
Riley knocked again snapping me out of my thoughts. I opened the door hoping for the best.
"Hey Riley." I said.
"Hey Emily." He said while walking in. I shut the door. We walked over to Taylor. "I hope he wasn't bad." Riley said.
"Nope, he was very good." I lied.
"That's good. Thanks so much for watching him."
"No problem."
"Well, Tay and I better go. He wants to go to the movies tonight." He mentioned.
"Really? Because Ashley and I are going too."
"Maybe I can give you a ride?" He said kind of asking me.
Well it would save me money on gas and since we're going to the same theater, I don't think it really matters, right?
"Yeah that would be great." I said.
"We better get going then."
"Uh, yeah let me just get Ashley."
"Okay."
I went upstairs in my room. Ashley was sitting on the couch watching TV.
"Ashley, you know the boy who came today?" I asked.
"Yeah . . ." She said waiting for me to finish.
"Well his older brother is going to give us a ride to the theaters since their going."
"Okay."
"Can you go grab the money on mom's dresser?"
"Sure." She shut off the TV and left.
I went over to the mirror and realized I still had my brace on for my wrist. But since Jamie healed it, there's no need for it. I took it off and put the brace in my drawer. I moved my wrist around. It doesn't even feel like it was broken.
