Chapter Eleven - Unexpected People Come With Unexpected Events

'I missed you guys so much. Where have you been?' The little girl said.

The wolves looked sad.

'What's wrong?' She asked.

I never did hear the wolves talk, only the girl.

'You said you would take care of me.' She said 'Where am I supposed to go? I have no home'

The girl ran off and the wolves faded away. I heard a scream. The girl? Then there was a bunch of growls and howls. The girl was screaming out for help. But all I could do was stand there and listen to her screams.

"Emily?"

I opened my eyes and sat up. "Ashley? What is it?" I asked.

"Its ten o'clock and mom and dad are not home yet." She said.

"Oh, uh. Did they call?" I asked half asleep.

"No, I tried calling them but there was no answer. I'm worried." She said.

I got up and looked out my window. It was dark out but no snow. It didn't even snow at all last night. I heard a low bark. I looked down at the little gray and white wolf. The gray was very faded that you have to look close for it.

"Ashley, can you let Seth outside."

"Yeah, come on Seth." He followed Ashley out the door.

I got my cell phone and called Sarah. It rang a couple of times then there was silence. I just hung up.

Ash was right. No one picked up. Maybe I can go over to Jamie's house with Ashley. It could help Ashley forget about it. Maybe it could even help me.

I called Jamie's cell.

"Hello?" I heard Sophia talk.

"Sophia?" I asked.

"Oh, Hey Emily. What's up?"

"Uh, well Sarah and Ray haven't come home yet. I thought maybe Ashley and I could hang over there just . . ."

"Of course you can." She said not letting me finish "You guys are welcome here anytime."

"One more question." I said.

"Yeah?"

"Where's Jamie?"

"Oh, he's upstairs. He just left his phone down here. Did you wanna speak with him?" She asked.

"No that's fine. I'll just see you later."

"Okay, what time?"

"Around three just in case they come."

"Great. See you then."

"K, bye." I hung up.

I set my phone down and went to the bathroom to go get ready.

Later, it is three o'clock now and they still aren't home. The air is getting colder and the sky is getting darker, but no sign of snow at all. I've been watching the weather channel all day. They say the snow is supposed to be here now, but nothing at all has happened.

"Em, are we going?" Ashley asked me.

"Yeah, let me just get my coat."

I got my coat upstairs and I came to the middle of the step and the lights flickered then went out.

"Emily!" Ashley yelled in fear.

"It's fine Ash. The wind or something must have knocked it out." I walked down the rest of the stairs watching every step I took. I got to the bottom and walked near Ashley till we got outside. The wind was blowing hard and it must have been like twenty degrees out.
