Dead Roses (Gene X Zenix) (Genix) Book 2

Chapter 10

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT A/N PLEASE READ
I wanted to do something special for chapter 10, and I hope the following chapter is good enough but in edition to that I wanted to do two other things.

1. A character and author Q/A leave questions for me and all the characters from the book on THIS CHAPTER!

2. I was listening to the song in the media, and I started relating the ltrics to Genix, so before i start the chapter, i wanted to do this little memory thing: (personally I think 2009 2012 and 2022 all relate to Genix, but Im going to to this first, but in the future I'll do the rest:

Years go by, and here we lie. You're like my star, we've come so far: Do i need to say more? This lyric sums up their love story so much. It's been 10 years since everything, and they've realized how dependant they are of eachother.

Will you lay here with me my dear? When the sky, is not so clear.: Again a perfect representation of there relationship. They've been through the thick and thin. And all the recemts faults like Balto and the shooting of Sasha shouldmbe enough to break them, but in the end it was how they were brought back into eachothers arms.

My tired eyes are blinded by the fairy lights.

How far would I have gotten without you here?:Without the haunting memory of Zenix through those ten years, Gene probably would have ended his life without hesitation.

That time has been forgotten for years and years: With the new memories they are making together, the ruff year in highschool seems to be fading away.

My life is beginning to peice together with you: Couldn't have said it better myself.

I could've made it on my own, but you were like my stepping stones: Again, referring to those ten years. Of course Gene had the choice to kill himself or not, but with Zenix in his mind he was able to keep going.

I'm looking forward to 2022

That's all I'm doing of the song, mostly because this was the most meaningful. Huge credit goes to the aritst of song!

Now without further to do, let's get on with Chapter 10....

Zenix's POV

It's been a week since the party, and Gene and I had already moved in to our home. It was actually fairly easy since Gene didn't have much in his old apartment.

Speaking of Gene, he decided to start taking college classes at a nearby community college and quit his bartender job.

I was really proud of how easily he was able to cleanup, he always says it was because of me, but being the modest person I've grown to be, I continuously deny it.

During college I studied literature- *sigh* Dont judge me. So I've decided to try and write a book. I don't know, it just seems like a good idea. Especially if it means I get to work from home.

YOU DONT GOTTA GO TO WORK WORK WORK-

Currently I'm on the couch, scrolling through Instagram, when something on the TV grabs my attention.

"A werewolf by the name of Balto -insert lastname here- has recently escaped from Phoenix Drop prison. Police are taking this casd extremely seriously seeing as he was convicted for physical abuse and rape of a Meif'wa named Zenix Raeven (idk). Further new on this inver-"

I didn't hear anything else, excepted for the thoughts racing through my brain.

No no no no

We were safe
We were happy
We were perfect.

I just escaped him.

I was going to call Gene when the house phone rang.

I jumped at the sound, but after the shock I walk over to pick it up.

"Hello?"

"Hello, is this Zenix Raeven?"

"Yes."

"Ok, hi, my name is Ellie Zarack from the Phoenix Drop Police Department and I've been asked to inform of Balto -lastname-'s escape. We want you to stay indoors, and a set of police will come to patrol the perimeter of your neighborhood."

"O-okay, thank you."

"Your very welcome, bye."

"Bye."
