Connor woke up first the next morning.

Troye laid his head upon Connor's chest, snuggled into his shirt.

Connor's strong arms were wrapped around Troye's battered body loosely.

Troye snored quietly as Connor watched him sleep deeply, the boy's face peaceful and innocent as the sunlight casted upon his face, Connor trying his best to look past the bad bruising that adorned the young boy's fair skin.

Connor lifted one hand traced his fingers carefully and lightly over Troye's birthmark, smiling at the fact that Troye hated it but he loved it.

Troye eventually started to stir in Connor's gentle embrace, his snoring stopping as he breathed in deeply while his face scrunched up, obviously feeling pain from the previous night, but remained still on Connor's chest that rose and fell slowly.

Connor remained looking to the younger boy's features and soon he saw Troye's lips twitch into a small smirk.

"Stop staring," he mumbled with a laugh as he could feel Connor's eyes trained on him, keeping his eyes shut, one however would not be able to open for a while because of how badly Dylan had injured it from the night before.

Connor giggled at his own actions and did not listen to Troye's request, the giggle causing Troye's heart to flutter, making him smile even more.

"I can't help it," Connor said with another chuckle.

"It's rude to stare, Connah," Troye said, his morning voice low and raspy.

"Shut up, I know you love it," Connor said matter-of-factly.

"Uh huh," Troye muttered in defeat as he then opened his one eye, it still being slightly bloodshot.

"Hey," Connor greeted cutely now seeing one of Troye's ocean blue eyes open.

"Hey," Troye hummed sweetly back as he brought himself up the bed slowly and carefully to lay his head in the crook of Connor's neck. Connor placed a light kiss on top of Troye's mop of curls.

"How are you feeling?"

"Sore," he mumbled, his voice muffled. "But I will be okay, I have you here," Connor blushed at his statement.

"Well I think today calls for just cuddles and sleeping then hey?"

"Yes please, I'm too sore to get up," Troye said truthfully, getting out of bed was not going to happen for at least today, classes would also now had to be put on hold for a bit.

"I agree, I don't want you to do anything today, just rest," Connor said as he ran fingers up and down Troye's arm.

"Thank you Con, but don't you have stuff to do?"

"Nah, I have work leave I can use for the rest of the week, I don't want you to be alone here," Connor said as he thought of the slight possibility that Dylan may just come back. "But I do need to start looking for a new apartment," Connor said, remembering the cold words he gave to Dylan the night before.

"New apartment?"

"Well yeah, do you really think I want to be anywhere near Dylan after what he has done to you?"

"Well no but you can just stay here you know," Troye suggested, hopeful that Connor would say yes.

"Really?"
