Isn't that a bit cliché?

"Wow," Connor said like a young child, looking up to what the night sky had to offer. The stars were plentiful and all shone brightly as they swirled in their different constellations while the chilly breeze of the night blew gently.

"Agreed," Troye said, also in childlike wonder.

"Why have we never done this before?" Connor asked.

"Well it's a little cliché don't you think?" Troye asked in a teasing tone, knowing full well that Connor was a true romantic at heart.

"It may be cliché but you can't deny how beautiful this is," Connor said as he felt Troye slip his hands into his hair, massaging his scalp gently while Connor lay on his stomach.

"Yeah, it is. I wish we could just stay like this forever you know?"

"Yeah," Connor said with a sigh.

"But let's just stay out for as long as we can for now, we have to go back tomorrow."

"Don't remind me," Connor said with a groan. The last few days staying with the Mellets had been very relaxing for them and had definitely been something they needed to just get away for a while. Connor truly felt one with the Mellets and Troye noticed.

"Okay I will keep quiet," Troye said with a chuckle. Connor smiled and let silence fall over them. Troye could feel the soft grass beneath him tickle at his neck while running his fingers through Connor's soft locks. Connor would have closed his eyes from the serenity he currently felt but kept them trained on the stars above.

Troye however let his eyes close for a minute, lulled by Connor's soft inhales and exhales.

"Troye!" Connor exaggerated with a gasp, scaring Troye out his skin, both of them jolting up from their position.

"Connor, my God you nearly gave me a heart attack-"

"Did you not see it?" Connor interrupted, looking behind him to a slightly out of breath Troye, completely disregarding the fact that he had just scared the living daylights out of him.

"See what?"

"The two shooting stars that just went past!" Connor said, his childlike excitement causing Troye to smile lovingly.

"Sorry Con, no I didn't," he said with a small laugh while Connor looked back to the sky. "But what did you wish for?" Connor gasped over dramatically, placing hand over his heart while looking back to Troye.

"If I tell you then it won't come true," Troye rolled his eyes playfully while chuckling.

"Sorry babe I forgot, but I'm gonna make a wish anyway-"

"Don't tell me!" Connor said as he covered his ears with his hands. Troye chuckled again and lay back down, pulling Connor by the shoulders with him to lie back onto Troye's stomach.

"I won't," Troye said while pulling Connor's hands away from his ears and placing his own hands in his soft hair once again, Connor instantly relaxing once again.

I wish to keep the ability of making him happy.

As the night went on they snuggled up closer, the wind soon picked up in pace and the tempreture fell. Then they soon felt small drops of rain fall on their faces.

"Oh shit!" Troye hollered as they both quickly got up when the rain moments after started pouring down relentlessly.

"Run!" Connor yelled while they both started laughing. Troye grabbed Connor's hand while making a run for it back up to the path that leads them down to the lake. Naturally, Connor was in front soon after, but never let go of Troye's hand as he clumsily followed behind. Both still laughing hysterically despite them being soaked to the bone already, even hearing their shoes make squelching noises on each step.

"Fuck!" Troye shouted as he tripped over a conveniently placed tree root that had grown out from the ground. Troye fell forward, pushing Connor down with him and landing on top of the boy's back. Their laughter then became louder, Connor then turning himself around to Troye who had already gotten up and was lending his hand to help Connor back up. Connor took his hand, but pulled him down once again. Troye landed with an 'oof' sound while Connor carried on laughing.

"You okay!" Connor yelled over the pouring rain, squinting his eyes, looking through his wet eyelashes.

"Great!" Troye yelled back with his ever present smile.

Connor smiled back, locking their gazes and then sitting up from the ground with Troye now straddling his lap. They giggled again once face to face, just for Troye to grab Connor from the front of his shirt collar to bring him in for a heated kiss against his cold lips. Connor instinctively placed his hands in Troye's soaked curls in an attempt to bring them closer.

Cold lips against cold lips soon became warm with passion as Troye brought his arms around Connor's neck to try pull him in even closer.

They both pulled back for a second to catch their breaths, locking eyes once again as they giggled and smiled lovingly at one another. Connor then brought them in for one longer kiss, Troye cupping his face while Connor placed his hands on Troye's hips.

When they pulled back once again, Troye brought them in for a sweet Eskimo kiss to which Connor giggled.

Troye then got up off Connor's lap, taking him by the hand to pull him up then running off again, more carefully this time, to get back home.

"Come on Tro!" Connor yelled, now back on the street's sidewalk with Troye behind him, slowing in pace.

"I'm trying Connah! You know I'm not cut out for this!" Connor laughed, relief soon washing over him when the house came into sight.

"Not far now just keep going babe!" Connor yelled encouragingly, not enough though when Troye stopped all together pulling Connor to a stop with him. "Come on its not far love," Connor whispered close to Troye's face, the rain still falling hurriedly as they panted heavily.

"I know... I just wanted a kiss of encouragement," Troye stated with a smirk, still panting, knowing Connor would give in. Connor shook his head slightly with a small laugh.

"Is that so Troye boy?" Troye nodded slyly, Connor then took Troye by the waist, pulling him in with strength. Troye smiled into the kiss, appreciating the warmth Connor still seemed to hold even when it was freezing out and they were both soaked.

Troye cupped his face as they drew back. Both looked seriously at each other now, still out of breath, their gazes flickering with what even the strongest of cynics would not be able to deny was indeed true love.

Connor left one small kiss to the corner of Troye's mouth, Troye returning it quickly.

"Was that good enough?" Connor asked with a smirk.

"It will do for now," Troye answered slyly back then running off hand in hand once again, eventually getting to the front door.

Troye opened it and shut the door quietly after Connor entered, both then trying to take off their shoes without too much noise.

"A towel you two?" Troye smiled, not even having to turn around as he recognised his mother's voice. Troye turned his head around with a smile.
"Please ma," he asked sweetly, Connor chuckling beside him. Laurelle laughed as well then threw the two towels at them.

"You so prepared, Laurelle," Connor said with another chuckle as he placed the towel over his head to start drying off his hair.

"Always," she said with a smile. "Why did it take you so long to get back here?"

"We got...caught up," Troye said with a smile in Connor's direction, immediately locking eyes with him.

Just then, Sage entered the room making comical kissing sounds as she made her way past them through to the kitchen without another word.

Laurelle laughed while the two boys, even though freezing, blushed bright crimson but giggled as well.

"Get to bed you two love birds; you have a flight to catch in the morning."
