Troye went downstairs after being called by his mother for dinner. The family sat around the table and started dinner. At first the conversation was general small talk about what Tyde and Sage want to do in the holidays. Troye of course just listened while eating his food, still thinking about what happened with Zoe just a few hours earlier.
"Troye, when is Connor coming over again?" Tyde asked eagerly taking Troye out of his day dream.
"I think he can come tomorrow, I will ask in the morning," smiling to his brother's now very excited face.
"So Troye?" Laurelle started her question while he looked to her. "Who does Connor exactly live with?" Troye tensed up, he had no choice though, and it would make his parents on edge if he did not say.
"He...uh lives with his aunt."
"Oh what is she like," Laurelle smiled, Troye knew exactly what she was like but couldn't obviously say, he had promised Connor.
"Haven't met her," he said quickly.
"Oh," Laurelle now frowned how he answered her, noticing his sudden nervousness. "You saying after knowing Connor for this long you still haven't met his aunt," Troye shook his head.
"Well then I think I will go over there tomorrow and ask if she and Connor would like to come over for dinner," Troye's pulse started running.
"No! Uh... I mean... I don't think she can even come. She works mum, very late hours," He said lying through his teeth not really knowing what the circumstances were.
"Why so hesitant about that Troye," Shaun asked confused.
"Not hesitant dad. Just... I know she is uh very busy." Yeah busy hurting Connor.
"Then why did you shout no like that?" his brother asked, looking confused.
"I...I do-don't kn-know..."
"Why are you stuttering like that honey?" Laurelle now looked very concerned, the whole table now looking to Troye, his whole body is now tense and his throat becoming clenched from the pressure. "Honey is there something we should know?"
"Gee what is this? Interrogation night?" Troye laughing nervously trying to lead them off the trail they had now come across.
"Troye?" his father asked now rather sternly, putting down his cutlery.
"There is nothing going on. Connor's aunt is just very busy. That's it." Troye now said harshly to show he was done with this conversation.
"Honey, you are hiding something," Laurelle said knowingly, she however could not pin point as to why her son was acting up like this.
"I'm not hiding anything!" he slammed down his fork, no longer having an appetite, and stormed up the stairs to his room. Leaving his family in utter confusion as to what might be going on. He was done with them asking questions. He slammed his door behind him and lent against it, sliding down it to rest his head into his knees. He soon felt the tears fall down his face, he was worried and felt so bad for Connor. He felt like every second he was away from Troye, his aunt could hurt him. and Troye knew how capable she was of doing that and how he would not stop it.
"Honey, let me in," Laurelle knocked on the door softly.
Troye then stood up. He had to keep Connor's secret. So he resorted to the only thing he could think of and he locked the door. as Laurelle heard the click of the lock she knew something very bad was going on behind her back. However, Laurelle being a respectful person decided to not give a visit to the Franta household, at least not yet. She also knew she was accomplishing nothing by begging her son to open the door so she left and went back down stairs. The family finished dinner in utter silence.
