"Zoe... please open up," Troye said weakly between sniffles as he knocked on her door pathetically.
He felt broken, betrayed and it hurt like hell, he just needed someone to keep him company. In fact he wasn't sure why he felt so hurt, he didn't like Dylan anyway maybe it was just the fact that he was tired and overwhelmed. He carried on knocking, trying not to be too loud as they were in an apartment building. Eventually he gave up, it was about midnight now anyway and Zoe had to be asleep.
He then leaned against the wall and sank down, then hugging his knees while bowing his head as the inevitable, hot tears fell down the smooth skin of his cheeks.
"Troye?" Zoe asked sleepily and confusedly as she had heard the knocks but took a while to answer as she thought it was her imagination as she heard them in her sleep. Troye lifted his head and let his now dull blue eyes pierce into Zoe's tired ones, she had seen him like this too much lately and it was killing her.
"Zoe please help me," he asked defeated, not even sure what help he was asking her for. Zoe then went to his side and held his hand and pulled him up into a tight hug.
"Shh Troye, I'm here," she said as he leaned his head down onto her shoulder.
They then walked into her apartment and both took their seats beside one another on the sofa, Zoe looking sadly at Troye's broken appearance.
"I'm sorry I-"
"No Troye, no time for apologies.
Just tell me, I'm here forever, never leaving your side," her words lifted Troye's spirits slightly as he sat up straighter and his tears had stopped and dried to his blotchy cheeks."He has a boyfriend," he said brokenly, staring straight ahead of him, his eyes seeming to no longer hold blue but just falling into grey.
"Who?" she asked confused at information she was not expecting.
"Connor," he said simply.
"Yeah, I know he told you and you told me. So why you crying Troye? You knew already and-"
"His boyfriend is Dylan," he said abruptly halting her rambling. Zoe immediately fell silent as her eyes grew wide. "I know," he said responding to her shocked appearance. "To be honest I kind of saw it coming that Dylan was already with someone. He often acted weird when a topic of that nature came up or even when we would walk past certain places but if it has to be anyone, anyone on this planet... why Connor? Has he not been through enough in his life?" Zoe didn't know how else to respond to Troye words so she just nodded sadly while looking to the ground as did Troye while he played with his hands nervously.
"And Zo?" he asked quietly while she looked to him showing he had her full attention. "Can I tell you the main reason why I think I'm crying?" she nodded slowly. "It's because Connor doesn't know that Dylan has cheated on him, that's what hurts most. He is in a relationship he thinks is strong and-"
"You know you would never do that to him, that you would make a better boyfriend," she finished understanding him completely even if he never thought of it like that himself.
"Yeah... I guess," he said looking to the floor agreeing with her statement because hell was it the truth. That was exactly what was making him overwhelmed and frustrated resulting in his tears to fall. "What do I do Zo?" he asked defeated, needing any advice he could get.
"Well Connor gave you his number right?"
"Yeah he did but no Zoe," he said understanding where she was taking this. "I can't tell him. What right do I have?"
"Well Tro how would you want it if you were in his situation? Wouldn't you want someone to tell you?" Troye sighed, why is she always right? He then lay on his back, placing his hands on his stomach while Zoe remained in her seat looking at him as she saw what she had said sunk into his head.
