“See you later Zo!” Troye called after her as she walked to her last class of the day while he had the rest of the day to himself.
He walked off to the café knowing Dylan would be there and Troye wanted to see him again. It was not a long walk and Troye now had come to know all the shorter and longer routes around the city. He felt better after his little ‘poor me’ moment from the night before and when he woke up those thoughts didn’t return and he kept it that way.
He walked into the small café and a smile immediately lit his features as he saw Dylan who was busy wiping down a table. He snuck up behind the unsuspecting boy and pinched his sides, frightening him and made him jump.
“Hey!” he shouted as Troye died laughing as his legs almost failed on him as he tried to keep his balance. “That wasn’t funny,” he said in a childlike voice.
“Sorry but karma’s a bitch,” Troye said making Dylan roll his eyes and put on a serious face as best he could as he almost started laughing at himself. Soon he gave in and giggled as well. “Sorry bubs,” Troye said as he embraced Dylan sweetly.
“My shift is over in like ten minutes, we should hangout again,” Troye nodded in agreement.
“How about you just come over to my place,” Troye said as Dylan agreed. Troye took a seat at a table while waiting for Dylan. He went on his phone and decided to check his social media while he waited.
Soon Dylan took Troye by the hand and they walked to his apartment.
As they came up to the apartment building Troye and Dylan were in deep conversation about their tastes in music. Troye felt excited to know that Dylan had never heard of artists like Oh Wonder or Broods, he couldn’t wait to show him all his favourite artists. They walked up the stairs and soon came to Troye’s floor.
“Nice place,” Dylan said genuinely looking at Troye’s attention to simple décor and furniture.
“Yeah it’s small but I like it, I’m happy with it,” he said as he walked to the kitchen. “Nutella?” Troye asked as Dylan took a seat on a stool at the kitchen island.
“With what?” Troye turned to look at him and smirked.
“Just like that, from the jar,” he said shaking the jar in Dylan’s face.
“Oh,” said chuckling at Troye’s excitement, taking the lid off, and getting two spoons then taking a seat next to Dylan. Soon conversation started up again, mostly about their childhoods and where they grew up.
“You got a little something there Troye,” Dylan said giggling making Troye’s heart flutter while Dylan pointed at his chin where some Nutella was spread.
“Where?”
“There!” Dylan said again pointing towards his chin but Troye just missed completely. “Just let me get it,” Dylan said licking his finger and swiping it across Troye’s chin, and both blushed a dark crimson as Dylan sat now very close, little space divided them. After Dylan had removed the Nutella he left his hand on Troye’s face and bought his closer but were stopped by a knock at Troye’s door.
“I’ll be right back,” Troye whispered, Dylan nodded slowly and let go of Troye’s face. Troye opened the door up to reveal a very happy Zoe, nothing out of the ordinary.
“Hey Tro, just came to ask- oh you have company!” she squealed as she walked in, seeing Dylan now sat on the sofa. “Hi, haven’t formally introduced myself yet, I’m Zoe,” she said reaching out her petite hand to shake Dylan’s.
“Nice to meet you Zoe, I’m Dylan,” he said shaking her hand gently.
“I’ve heard so much about you, Troye just can’t stop gushing over you,” she said with a giggle while Dylan laughed as well and Troye rolled his eyes.
