Cleo's P.O.V -

It's been three months. Three months since our newborn baby had been harshly ripped from our lives. Time has healed us in some sort, but we completely changed the nursery into a workout gym. I could definitely use it, I've been eating my feelings for three months now. The sun is slowly setting and my day has been spent watching Christmas movies with Niall.

"Shh." Niall says with his eyes still glued to the television.

"That was my stomach," I look up at him. My head resting on his shoulder and his arm slumped around my waist.

"Want me to make you something to eat?" Niall offers.

"Niall, we don't have anything else to eat."

"What? Of course we do." He gently pushes me aside to get off of the warm sofa and make his way to the kitchen.

This is why we need jobs. We're out of food and I'm running out of money. Now that I think about it, neither one of us work, yet we still manage to pay bills. Should I get a job? Does Niall get tired of paying for me? I can pay for myself but probably not for much longer. Niall doesn't have a job. Actually, I don't think Niall ever had a job. He probably couldn't keep one because he'll start procrastinating at work.

I was so caught up in my thoughts, I didn't even realize Niall was bending over tucking in his shoe strings into his shoe.

"Where are you going?" I ask curiously.

"I asked you if you wanted to go out to eat, and I said I'm going to take that as a yes since you were daydreaming."

"Oh, I'll go get ready." I get off of the couch and run upstairs to put on black boots, scarf and a jacket. Since it's around Christmas season, it's freezing outside. I trip over the rug on my way out of the room, but I sucked air in harshly through my teeth because I had landed on a thumbtack.

I started to just leave it in my index finger because I knew taking it out was going to be painful. I don't want Niall to see it because then he'll tease me about it later, in a playful way of course. I love his playful side, but I don't want it to be about my clumsiness.

"I swear, girls always take the longest fucking time to get ready." He says coming up the stairs. What the hell am I going to do now.

"Cleo, what is tak-" I quickly hide my hand behind my back knowing that he saw my sharp movement.

"What's that?" He asks.

"What's what."

"Behind your back, Cleo" he gives me that "I'm not dumb I already know" look.

"Oh, um, I just was-"  I stand there looking around the room with a playfully guilty look on my face. He steps closer to me and gently reaches behind me, grabbing my forearm and looking at my hand.

"So, that's where my thumbtack went! I was hanging up a poster and one of them dropped, so I left it." He says casually like it's nothing. "Come on my clumsy little Cleo." He says while laughing at me.

"Technically this is your fault."

"I tried to find it on the floor, but I couldn't." He says still traveling to the door with my forearm in his hand.

"You do realize that this is going time hurt whenever I take it out, right?" He questions me.

I shove my arm out to him looking away and squeezing my eyes shut even though I can't see it. I don't want to see him take this thumbtack out of my finger.
