Niall's P.O.V -

I'd be completely lost without Cleo. Thinking of losing her is unbearable. I focus on the road and push those thoughts to the back of my mind. It takes a while to get home because we still live in the beach house from escaping her father.

I look over at Cleo to see her sound asleep in the passenger seat. How could someone want to intentionally hurt such a beautiful person? Especially if it's your daughter. I will never understand the things that go on in her father's head enough that makes him want to harm her emotionally or physically.

I pull up outside of the house and turn the car off, admiring the beach. It's very lovely, but it's almost getting ready to snow. I hate the season changes over here.

If my parents would've known that the winter season stays longer than the summer season they wouldn't have purchased this beach house. Cleo has been saying how she wants to move into a nice town. She wants to have easy access to stores and interact with other people. There's other people around here in their own beach house, I don't have that problem because I don't really bother to talk to anyone except Cleo.

I do miss my mates, but they're in College.

I always hungout with older people because I was usually around my brother's friends. I look over to see Cleo bringing her legs up closer to her, her cheeks growing more pale and nose turning pink. The heater is off in the car so she's probably freezing.

"Cleo, wake up." I gently nudge her but all she does is groan at me and try to swat me away. "Get up, we're home." I laugh a little at her.

I knew she wasn't going to want to get up. I get out and go around to her side, undoing her seatbelt. I hook my arms under her legs, bringing her to my chest and shutting the door. I see her smiling while she's "asleep". I fucking knew it. She's awake.

Once we're inside Cleo turns on the television and it just happens to be on the news channel.

"I'm going upstairs to shower." I say to her. She nods and continues watching the tv, laying down on the sofa. Halfway up the stairs, I hear the television say Cleo's uncle's name.

I roll my eyes and head back downstairs. What in the hell is this man doing now?

Cleo's body is tensed on the couch, but yet she's still watching the show. It's like she wants to look away, but she can't.

"Peter breaking out of jail only to be put in prison for murder. He broke out of jail a few days ago to kill a person by the name of Jo-" I run over the telly and shut it off quickly. She doesn't need to hear this shit.

"Cleo," I turn around and see her no longer on the sofa. I pad my bare feet across the wood floor and up the stairs once I hear a door shut. I curse under my breath because I know she heard the news lady speak of her uncle.

"Baby, open the door." I say gently through the wood. She says nothing.

"Cleo, unlock the door." She's starting to piss me off by not opening this door. I want to see her. I need to see her and make sure she's okay.

Nothing again. I reach at the top of the door bar and luckily there is a key. I enter the door slowly to find Cleo sitting on the window seal, looking outside.

"Why does he keep doing this?" I hear her voice ask, eyes still glued to the window.

"Because he's a fucking dumbass." It hurts me to see her sad over Peter. She should be happy he's in prison.

"Don't say that about him!" She bites back, turning around with red rimed eyes.

"You aren't seriously crying over this asshole are you?" I don't understand.
