Niall's P.O.V -
After what happened in the kitchen a few moments ago, a lot of tension has permanently disappeared and the atmosphere just feels lighter around us.
We lay on the couch together both staring at the ceiling. Cleo's head lays on my arm that is wrapped around the back of her neck as we sit in silence. A good kind of silence. I'm not usually an emotional kind of person, but I couldn't help myself as hard as I tried a while ago. I stare at the ceiling in deep thought about Cleo and I. Our relationship. Losing our loved ones the same way. I feel like it's fate for us. Before I met Cleo, I wasn't into that romancy, moppy, relationship shit. Now I can't stay away from her and vise versa.
-------------
New Years Eve rolls around before we know it. I wake up, sprawled across Cleo as she softy breathes above me. Noticing that the huge bump on Cleo's forehead has gone away. My face raises up from her stomach and I pull myself up. I told her that we were going to a party the night of New Years Eve, which is today.
I walk over to the bathroom in my boxers only, shutting the door and starting up my shower after I brush my teeth. I wash my hair with the peppermint scented shampoo that Cleo likes. I just hate it a bit because it smells so strong. I hear the door creak open, darting my attention to it. The water rinses the shampoo down and into my eyes.
"Dammit," I mutter, closing my eyes shut. I try to rinse my eyes out with water by opening them, but more gets into my eyes making them sting shut.
"Shit, shit, shit." I rub my hands over my eyes quickly trying to make this shampoo get out of my eyes. It only makes it worse, smearing the hair soap around in my eyes.
"Fucking hell!" I yell. The shower curtain is brought back and I don't even bother covering myself because my eyes hurt to fucking much.
"I came to scare you, but you seem a little bit busy right now." Cleo laughs at me.
I ignore her smart ass remark and scrub my eyes. It hurts, but I don't care right now. Maybe if I rub them harder it'll stop burning.
"Did you get shampoo in your eyes?" She giggles. If I could look at her, I'd give her the meanest glare I have for teasing at me. My eyes burn like hell.
"Yes! It was that peppermint shit." I curse a lot whenever something goes wrong.
"Oh, I love that scent." She says smiley. I don't even have to be looking at her to know she's trying not to laugh at me.
"Cleo!" I shout playfully, finding the knob to turn off the shower that's making the shampoo fall into my eyes.
"Fine, fine." She laughs sighing. She helps me step out of the shower. She hands me a towel I wrap it around my waist.
"Open your eyes." I lean backwards against the counter and bury my hands in my face to scratch at my eyes.
"Stop," Cleo grabs my hands, bringing them down. "The bottle says don't scratch or rub your eyes."
"My eyes are on fucking fire!" She laughs at me and I make a mental note to get her back.
"Open your eyes," I can tell she's standing right in front of me. "You have to use eye drops." She drags a chair over, standing on it as I tilt my head back, waiting for her to drop the liquid into my eyes.
Her fingers pry my burning eyes open and I feel the cold eye drop go into my eye. She goes to the next eye, trying to open my right eye.
"Niall," She warns.
"It burns way more than the other eye did." I tell her looking at her with one eye.
"Then, hold your breath or something because you have to put them in or it could mess up your eyes." She comes closer and I shake my head away from her eye drop thingys. Cleo holds my head still, I squeeze my eyes shut and she starts laughing. My eye is pried open by her thumb and index finger, she quickly uses the drops then kisses my cheek, getting off of the chair.
"See, it wasn't bad at all." She smiles, patronizing me. She walks to the other side of the mirror, rubbing this liquid stuff over her face, making her skin look absolutely flaw free. I look at the clock and it's 5 p.m. We slept in late today because of our activities in the sheets yesterday.
Cleo applies that black stuff onto her eyelashes, looking closely into the mirror.
"Boo!" I yell touching Cleo's waist, making her jump.
"My mascara is everywhere," She inhales surprised. Oh, so that's what that stuff is called. It is smeared on the corner of her eye.
"That's what you get for laughing at me earlier." She groans and wipes her face off with a cloth. It takes an hour and a half to get to the frat house, where the party is going to be held and it starts 9 p.m.
"We're leaving at 7:30." I say walking into the closet to grab a different pair of black jeans, a black v neck, and my grey zip up jacket. I put on my clothes and walk out to see Cleo still applying makeup. I would stop her, but the dark colors she rubbed on her eyelids makes her look hot as hell.
I go downstairs and grab that damn kitten, bringing it upstairs. I can't leave this thing alone anymore after it ruined the furniture. I lay on the bed and Snowball falls asleep next to me. I turn on a movie to kill time. Cleo comes out of the bathroom with her hair curly and her makeup makes her look a model.
"Wear a dress." I tell her while she's looking through her closet, standing with pajama bottoms on and a bra.
She pulls out black dress that stops above the middle of her thighs with lace sleeves. It's tight at the waist then flows out, reminding me of an umbrella. She slides on flats that sparkle perfectly, matching her outfit.
"I don't really want to wear heels." She says looking at her shoe pile.
"A lot of chicks are wearing them, but you don't have to if you don't want to. " I shrug, getting off of the bed.
"Now, I feel obligated to wear them." She groans, strapping on the black sparkly heels that look even better with her dress.
"Come on it's 7:20." That movie made time fly by quickly. She grabs the flats and holds them in her hands if she decides to switch shoes. I hand her the black iPhone5 that belongs to her.
"Can you keep it in your pocket? I'm not bringing a purse." She asks and I nod answering her.
The drive there was long because Cleo kept asking me who is going to be there and I just answered her with "everyone".
I park on the side of the curb because there isn't anymore space to park. There's a shit load of cars here. I go around to Cleo's side and she looks around with a worried and shocked look at the amount of cars here.
"You'll be with me the entire time." I reassure her and grab her hand helping her out of the car. She kisses my cheek, not having to stand on her tip toes. She pulls away and I shut the door, leaning over to Cleo's ear.
"You look hot as fuck." I tell her and she laughs. I press a kiss to her cheek and intertwine our fingers together walking towards the house.
