1.8: Night Walk

"I don't really want to disturb you. Sorry." He said.
"It's okay. I can't sleep yet anyway."

Seungcheol and their father have went to bed already. You now walk with Seungmin on the street. He went to the room and asked if he could talk to you. You said yes.

"You see, Seungcheol is the youngest, and for me, he's the most precious thing I need to protect." He told you.
You nodded in response.
"So...I just want to tell you that as long as you love him, please don't give up on him. He can get a little annoying sometimes. He can get so tiring too. But, please don't give up on him. He's just trying to get your attention I think."
You pulled the sleeves of your jacket down as you listened to him.
"But, if you don't love him anymore, please let go slowly. He's gone through so much heartbreaks already. I still remember when he called me back in their predebut days. He cried saying Samuel left too. That kid cried." He said smiling as he shook his head. "He welcomes people into his life, but after all the loss, he grew scared of being left behind. He doesn't want to be away from the people he loves. Who does anyway, right?"
"No one."
"Right. So please, be gentle with him. He may seem strong, but that kid is so fragile. And, you be careful too."
"Ne. I'll take good care of him, oppa."
"WOAH!~ YOU'RE REALLY CUTE!!! CHEOL IS RIGHT!~ I WANNA SQUEEZE YOUR CHEEKS!~ SO FLUFFY!~" He suddenly told you before pinching  your cheeks. "I'll go to bed now. I'm kinda sleepy now."
"Ok. I'll follow later." You said nodding.
"Oh! Wait. I'll introduce you to my girlfriend first. She lives here." He said pulling you to a house he's pointing at.
"Kira?"
"Ne! Oh! There she is! Come, Kira!!!~" He said kneeling down.

A golden Labrador came running towards him jumping over him making him stumble and sit on the floor. He cuddled the dog while the dog nuzzled his arm. You just looked at them awkwardly. Seungmin finally looked at you after a few seconds.

"Oh. This is Kira, my girlfriend." He told you.
"Mwo?!"
"She's my girlfriend." He said laughing. "I don't have a girlfriend yet actually, but Kira is the best girl I ever met you see." He said and the dog barked cheerfully as if agreeing.
"Oh. I see."
"I need to go now, yeobo. Sleep well. I love you!~ I'll come back tomorrow morning! Promise!" He told the dog and you can't help but giggle at them. "I'll go ahead, Y/N-ah. Take care, ok?"

You nodded. He left after. You continued walking around directionless. You just can't sleep. Even the cold weather won't help you. You pulled your jacket tighter around you. When you looked up at the road again, you saw someone standing ahead. You stopped for a moment before you realized it's Seungcheol. He slowly walking towards you.

"What is my love doing outside at this time?" He asked you.
"I couldn't sleep."
"Should I sleep beside you then?"
"Ani. I'm fine."
"But, I need it too. I can't sleep too." He said looking away shyly.
"What am I then? A sleeping pill?"
"They say your heartbeat should be good enough to help you sleep. My heart beats better when its nearer to the heart it beats for."
