I woke up the next morning, the following nights events replaying in my head. The mysterious boy's eyes were flashing through my mind. I wonder who he is and if I'll ever see him again. I sighed, then rolled over to check the clock. 9:30. I got up out of bed and started to get ready for the day by taking a hot shower.
I got out, taking a glance at the clock again, reading 10. I groaned, because it's Sunday and I have to work. I walked to the closet, pulling out some faded jeans, vans, and a simple but cute V-neck. After I finished pulling on my clothes, I headed to the bathroom, putting on some makeup. I looked down & realized I'm going to be late. Shit!
"Hey mom! I need you to drive me to work! I'm going to be late again!"
"Alright, I'll be down in a sec! How do you even still have a job? You're late almost every single day."
"It's because they love me mom."
"Mmhm. Sure they do."
My mom came down the stairs grabbing an apple and the car keys.
"Okay, let's roll out." She mumbled. We got into the car and she sped away. She took the 215, which took us straight to town square, a huge outdoor shopping center. I worked at Rave Motion Pictures, a movie theater.
"Bye mom, love you!" I gave her a kiss on the cheek before jumping out of the car & slamming the door. I ran up the stairs and into the box office.
"Ash. You're late." Grumbled a rusty voice from behind me. I turned around and came face to face with Pedro, a guy who is a bit older than me.
"I'm sorry Pedro!" I sighed, face palming myself. I turned to get my ID, pulling it out of the cupboards. "Excuse me sir, what am I working as today?"
"You work at the front of the entrance for the theater on the left. You collect the ticket stubs." Pedro stated. " No messing around, you're working with Drew today."
My face lit up, excitement coursing through my veins. I responded with an 'Okay' before heading over to my station.
"Here you go ma'am. Theater 11 on the right hand side." A deep but smooth voice said.
"Thank you." I turned the corner to see Drew taking an old lady's ticket.
"Drew!" I shouted, running towards him. His green orbs looked up to find my blue ones. His eyes lit up and a smile appeared on his face.
"Ash!" He responded throwing his arms around me. "Damn girl where have you been? I miss you!"
"Well I've been busy with school, you know applying for colleges and all that jazz. How about you, my little drewkins?" I smiled, winking.
"Uh," he groaned, " You know I hate that nickname. It's been the same with me as well. School is a total snooze. Girls won't leave me alone." I elbowed him.
"That's what you get for being the schools best quarterback and being so handsome." I shot him a quick wink. He blushed.
"Oh stop it you. Have you looked in a mirror? I'm sure boys are lining up for a piece of you." This time I blushed, shrugging my shoulders.
"No not really." I shook my head. "I've never dated anyone." His face dropped, collecting some tickets from the customers, before he glanced back at me.
"So you've seriously never dated anyone?"
"Yup."
"Why not? You're so gorgeous."
I sighed, explaining to him that every guy that's ever shown interest in me only wanted me for one thing only, which was sex.
"Wow." He said. "If you were my girlfriend, you'd be my princess."
I blushed and shook my head, focusing on work.
"Theater 13 on your left." I grabbed her ticket and sent her on her way.
"Hey Ash. It's my break time, do you want me to bring you anything?" Drew asked me kindly.
"Could you please bring me some cinnamon tea?"
"Coming right up love." He winked and I laughed. Drew was such a sweetie. He has beautiful green eyes and short spiky brown hair. "Be back in 30." He walked away, heading towards the break room.
I sighed wishing work would go by faster so I could get home and finish the book I was currently reading. I drummed my fingers to the song that was currently overhead. A cute old couple walked over to me, handing me their tickets. I ripped the studs off, telling them that theater 10 is on the right. They smiled at me and I couldn't help to smile back.
I started to draw, when I heard his voice. It was an unmistakable voice. Soft like velvet, but a harsh, deep undertone. Such a melodic voice.
"Yeah, bro that was the best party ever, you could hear it from far away." He said, laughing. Even his laughing was musical.
"Here you go." He said, not really looking at me until I handed his ticket back. He froze, staring at me so intensely, like I was food. His eyes were changing colors, blue to green to orange, an stopping at a beautiful violet color.
"Hey Drake, come on before we miss the movie." A voice said from behind. The guy, Drake broke out of his trance, his gaze hardening.
"Theater 14 on the left." I mumbled, my nerves were on fire.
"Thanks." He growled, causing me to jump. He stalked off in the direction of the theater. I shivered, happy that he was gone.
"Sorry about that mate." Another extremely attractive male stood in front of me. He looked exactly like Drake, except his hair was blonde, not brown.
"It's okay." I responded. He gave me a wink and smile before walking after Drake. Breathe in and out, in and out. I took a deep breath before exhaling.
"So..." Drew's voice said from behind me, making me jump. "What was that guys problem?"
I shrugged my shoulders. " I have no idea."
"Well forget him. Here's your tea Ash. I hope you like it." He smiled softly. I gave him a slight smile, moaning in delight at how delicious it was.
I just hope work ends faster.
