Chapter 43.
Lukes point of view.

I park onto my driveway. Getting out of the car. Slamming the door shut behind me. Jade gets out, closing the door slowly.

She walks around the car. Standing besides me. I smile down at her. Walking towards her house.

"Thankyou. For the drive home." Jade says. We're standing in front of her door.

I smile down at her nodding. "Your welcome. I had fun tonight."

Jade smiles back up at me. "Me too." She whispers.

"I'll see you in school on Monday?"

Jade nods. "Okay. Bye Luke." She says, leaning in. Kissing my cheek. My cheeks heat up right when I feel her lips on my skin.

She backs away. I smile down at her. Trying not to jump in excitement. She kissed me. I can not believe she actually kissed me. Maybe not on the lips or anything but she did. On the cheek.

"Bye Jade." Is all I manage to choke out. She laughs, opening the door and walking inside. I turn away and walk back to my house. My smile not fading.

I walk into my house, locking the door behind me. There is nobody downstairs. The lights are turned off. I walk upstairs slowly. Hearing voices coming from my mum and dad's room.

I walk up to their room. Placing my ear against the door.

"We have to Andrew. We have to move." My mum says. Her voice soft and low, I can barely hear her.

The bed creaks.

"How is that going to solve anything Liz? We can't just move away like that." My dad says.

I hear my mum take a deep breathe. "He saw her. They saw each other. Jade and Luke saw each other."

She knows Jade? How? Jade has never even spoken to my mum before. That's not possible.

I hear my dad gasp. "Did they talk?"

"No." My mom whispers.

"This is not good Andrew. They know about each other now. It's not safe. I think we should move." My mom says.

"Honey, I know that Luke knowing about this girl isn't the best thing. But we cant just move because of that. As long as they stay away from each other. Everything will he fine." My dad speaks softly.

They are hiding something from me. And it has to do with Jade.

"I'm scared Andrew. What if hefinds out about what happen?" I can hear the fear in my mums voice.

"I'll make sure he never finds out. Okay? I promise you. Everything will be okay. Where is Luke anyway?" I hear my dad ask. Shoot.

Before I can make a run for it my loud ringtone starts playing.

"Sh-shit! Shut up!" I groan under my breathe trying to decline the call from my mum. I hear footsteps coming closer to the door.

"Aw fuck!" I scream throwing my phone down the stairs. I hear a loud crack, and my phone immediately goes silent.

The doors opens and my mum stares straight at me with a confused face.

"How long have you been standing there?" She questions.

Long enough to know that you and my dad are keeping something from me. And it has to do with the girl next door.

"Uh, I just got here. I was walking upstairs and dropped my phone when you called." I lie, trying to sound calm and civilized.

My mom stares at me for a few seconds. I know she's trying to figure out whether I'm lying or not.

She nods, "Okay. We'll talk tomorrow. Goodnight honey." She says, placing a quick kiss on my head. She walks back into her room shutting the door.

I let out the breathe I was holding in.

Liz Hemmings, my mother. You hid this 'secret' from me for eighteen years. And whatever it is, I'm about to find out.
