Chapter 16

Ariana POV

Justin hasn’t been coming to school for the past three days ever since I saw him buying drugs. I was starting to get worried. What if he did something to himself? What if those drugs had a big effect on him? What if he really hates me? I quickly got out of the shower; my thinking chamber, and dressed up for school. Right before I was going to leave the house, the phone rang. I picked it up.

“Hello?”

“Ariana, is that you?”

“Yeah…who is this?”

“It’s your aunt May.”

“Oh, hi aunt May, how are you?”

“I’m okay hunny, thanks.”

“Weren’t you with my parents, aunt May?”

“Yes, I was…”

“How are they? I was feeling a bit worried when they didn’t call for the past week.”

“Hunny, I am going to tell you something.”

“Ok sure.”

“Go sit down on the couch.”

“Um, okay…”

I walked to the living room and sat down on the couch. I was feeling a little confused, to be honest.

“Are you sitting down now?”

“Yes, aunt May. You can continue.”

“Two days ago, your parents and I were driving to the hospital, you know, for a meeting.”

“Yes, I know.”

“Well, your parents and I were in separate cars. I got to the hospital but your parents never arrived.”

“W-What?”

“Your parents got into a car crash, Ariana. I am very sorry to put it this way but… They passed away hun.”

I completely froze. I didn’t know what to think or say.

“Ariana, hunny, are you there?”

I could hear my aunt’s voice coming through the phone but I didn’t make anything out of it. I dropped the phone onto the floor. I sat back against the couch and just stared at the ceiling above me. I was shocked, I was really shocked. I didn’t what to make of this. If my parents are really gone now, what was going to happen to me? I slowly sat straight up again. My senses came to myself and I burst into tears. I guess aunt May could hear me through the phone because she started saying things to me. I picked up the phone and placed it on my ear.

“H-Hello?” I mumbled.

“Yes, hunny. I’m still here.”

“So what happens now?”

“My flight is scheduled for Friday. I’ll be by your side on Saturday, Ariana. I am going to be living with you from now on, so don’t you worry about being alone. I love you, Ariana.”

“Aunt May, what am I supposed to do now? Both of my parents are gone…”

“Hunny, listen to me. You are going to go to school like you usually do. I don’t want you to get yourself into bad things, alright. Just go to school like you do everyday and don’t think about anything else. I’ll be there before you know it.”

“O-Okay…”

“Don’t feel so bad, okay? Your parents are in much better place right now, Ariana. Don’t feel bad for them. They are going to be watching over you from Heaven, hun.”

“Yeah..” I whimpered.

“Ok hunny? Close the phone and go to school now. I love you, baby doll.”

“Me too, aunt May.”

I turned off the phone and threw it onto the ground. I was feeling really bad right now. All the memories I had with my parents were coming into my mind, one after another. I sat there for a good two hours, just staring at the ceiling until I decided to get going to school. I had nothing better to do over here at home, anyways.

Justin POV

I woke up really late today, but I didn’t give a single fuck. I got up and threw a black shirt on and wore some jeans underneath. My hair was also a mess but I didn’t care. I picked up my jansport bag and rushed to my car. I hopped in and inhaled the fresh aroma of the inside of my range rover. What a beautiful machine.

I parked my car into the parking lot and hopped out. I walked to the inside of the school and noticed that the halls were quite empty. Well everyone had class right now so I wasn’t surprised. I still had time for my third period class so I decided on walking through the maze of hallways to pass time. I walked into the tech hallway, which had no classes this period which meant it was extremely quiet and nobody was there. I started roaming around in there until I heard whimpering. It sounded like a girl crying. I started following the sound. I turned into another hallway and noticed Ariana sitting on a bench with her head in her hands, crying. I just stood there and watched her. She looked up and noticed me staring at her.

“What? What do you want? Came to make fun of me, huh? Go ahead. Do it. I couldn’t care any less.” She said.

I was confused. I would never see her like this. Something must’ve happened. Oh wait, she probably just broke up with Jai and all those tears were for him. Ugh.

“What are all those tears for? Wait, let me guess; Jai.” I said.

She looked back up at me and stood up. She grabbed her bag and made her past me. I blocked her.

“What happened? You miss his dick, don’t you? Fucking loser.” I blabbered.

“Leave me the fuck alone. I don’t want to listen to your crap, not now not ever.” She said.

“My crap? I never make up crap. I speak the truth, unlike you.” I spat.

“I honestly can’t deal with your shit. Move out of my way.”

“No, I’m not going to move out of your way. Got a problem?”

I could see tears forming in her eyes.

“You really wanna know why I’m crying, huh? You really wanna know why I am fucking heartbroken?” she yelled.

“No, actually. You don’t need to tell me how much you miss Jai and his dick, bitch.” I said.

She looked me in the eyes.

“My parents died…” she said.

I felt like a boulder dropped on me and crushed me with it. I couldn’t believe it. I was mistreating her for no reason. I feel like shit.

“Ariana… I’m really sorry.” I said quietly.

She shook her head.

“Leave me alone, Justin.” She whispered.

She walked right past me and ran out of the school from the back door. I walked after her. I saw her get into her car and drive away.

I couldn’t believe it. Ariana had lost both of her parents and I was treating her like shit. God, forgive me. Ariana forgive me…
