The New Kid

Chapter 7

Justin POV

As soon as I got home, I stripped down into my boxers and got into my bed. I fell asleep with the thoughts of Ariana in my head. She was just too pretty to be true, and the fact that she was comfortable staying beside me throughout the night made me like her even more. It’s just I don’t know if I should break out of my shell, at least not yet. I had to get to know her. Okay, she was like the prettiest girl in the world but I had to know her better in order for me to express my feelings towards her. What if she is just playing with me? What if she has a boyfriend? What if she sees me as a friend?

I woke up two hours later because of a notification from my phone. I grabbed my phone from the table beside my bed and looked at the front screen. Ariana had wanted to be friends with me on Facebook. I obviously accepted her request. I looked through her pictures and noticed that she had a lot of pictures with the asshole I beat up earlier. I think his name was Jai, or something. I shrugged it off thinking they were friends but then I looked at her timeline and it said that she was in a relationship with him… This completely broke my heart. See this is what I meant by getting to know her. She was dating the asshole jock of the school. I wonder if she really loved him… After sometime of thinking of Ariana, I was hungry so I decided on going out to eat. I wore a black sweater over my tank top and blue jeans. I wore my black shades and pulled my hood over my head. I didn’t want anyone from school to notice me, it was already enough that I had to see them every day at school, so might as well disguise myself. You might be thinking how do you know that you will see your schoolmates outside but trust me when I say this, ever since I moved to California, I have noticed that literally everyone from school hangs out at the beach every day after school. I saw this sushi restaurant that looked pretty good so I parked in their parking lot. The restaurant was right across the beach, ugh. I walked in and took a seat in the front of the restaurant. A young guy, probably my age, came and took my order. I ordered a California roll, apparently it was their special.

I was done eating my California roll so I decided on leaving. I left the cash on the table and an extra tip for the waiter. I walked out of the restaurant and to the parking lot. I noticed a few guys standing beside my car. I looked closer and it was Jai and his dumb friends. I just walked over to them.

“What do you guys want?” I asked.

“You finally made it out of the restaurant, you pig.” Jai snickered.

“Oh I see, you want me to kick your ass in front of all these people, don’t you?” I said.

They all started laughing.

“No, this time you’re going to be the one getting his ass kicked.” He spat.

“I guess you didn’t learn from the lesson I gave you the other day, prick” I said.

“You were lucky the other day. I admit, it was a good punch, but not as good as the one I’m going to give you.” And with that he ran towards me and punched me. I was startled because I wasn’t expecting that. I fell to the floor and then Jai and his apes stared kicking in the stomach. I was dying from the pain. They dragged me into the small alley by the restaurant and continued kicking me.

“Stay away from my girl, you bastard!” Jai screamed at me, and then punched me once more.

I must’ve passed out because I don’t remember anything after that…

It felt as if my eyes were sealed together. I slowly opened them and looked around. This was not my room for sure. It looked like a girl’s room. I examined the room and saw pictures of a cute little girl on the wall. I then heard the door open. In walked Ariana. I was startled. How in the world…?
