Ariana POV
I haven’t gone to school for the past week. To be honest, I am sort of feeling better after my parents had passed away but the main reason I wasn’t going to school was because of Justin. I feel ashamed towards him. I could have tried my hardest and helped Justin that day. If only Justin knew why I left him for Jai… If only.
I got up to my phone’s ringtone and ran towards it. It was Lily. I haven’t been taking her calls for awhile and I am sure she is beyond worried right now. I quickly answered her phone call.
“Ariana?”
“Hey, Lily.”
“Oh my god. Ariana why haven’t you been picking up my calls? I tried coming over but you wouldn’t open the door. Are you okay babe?”
“It’s okay, Lily. I am feeling much better than before right now. Thanks for your concern.”
“What do you mean thanks for your concern? You are my best friend and anything that has to do with you concerns me, alright Ariana?”
“Alright, Lily.”
“Can I come over babe?”
“I was actually gonna take a nap now. Maybe tomorrow?”I
“Sure thing babe. Please come to school tomorrow, Ariana.”
“I will try.”
“Alright babe. I will talk to you later. Love you, bye!”
“Bye Lily.”
I put the phone down on the table and took a seat on the couch. Aunt May came and sat beside me.
“You should really listen to your friend and go to school tomorrow, Ariana. It’s for the best of us.”
“I know, aunt May. It’s just I don’t know if I’m ready for all the attention from the people at school. I am trying to slowly forget what happened to my parents but everyone is going to remind me with their sorry hugs and words.”
“I understand, hunny. But I encourage you strongly to go back to school tomorrow. You’ve already missed so many classes. Life continues, Ariana, life continues.”
Life Continues.
I gave aunt May a kiss on the cheek and went to my room. I stripped out of my clothes and jumped into bed. I was too tired to think about whether going to school tomorrow or not so I decided to take a nap.
Justin POV
The past few days I haven’t been feeling so well. I am constantly in my room, thinking about what I am doing with my life. While coming to California, falling in love never crossed my mind. But now that it happened, I regret every single piece of it. I fell in love with the impossible. She was way out of my league for one thing but even more so, it was really hard to be with her. I honestly have no idea how I am going to keep myself away from her anymore but this time I am going to do whatever it takes.
This whole week, Ariana didn’t show up to school. Even though this could partially be a bad thing; it was a good thing for me. The more she and I didn’t see each other, the better.
Ariana POV
I woke up to my alarm clock. This was the first time in 2 weeks that I had actually scheduled an alarm to wake myself up. I had decided on heading to school today because I was just missing out on a lot of things that could be important. On the other hand, I really wanted to see how Justin was doing.
I got dressed up in some baggy sweatpants and wore an adidas sweater on top. I ran downstairs to find breakfast ready.
“Aunt May?” I called out.
Aunt May came out of the kitchen and planted a kiss on my cheek.
“Good Morning, sweetheart. I am glad to see you up and ready for school.”
“You didn’t have to do all of this, aunt May. Really, I could have made my own breakfast.”
“Aw hunny. Did you really think I was going to let you miss out on my amazing pancakes?”
I chuckled. Aunt May’s humor has always been something I adored about her.
“Now sit down and eat your pancakes, missy. And I do not want to hear another word about this, alright?”
“Alright, aunt May.” I said while taking a seat at the table.

After finishing my breakfast, I brushed my teeth and made my way out. I missed driving my beautiful car. I hopped in and started the engine. I played my Ed Sheeran CD while driving to school.
I parked into the school parking yard and already sensed all eyes on me. Today is going to be a rough day, I thought.
I hopped out of the car and shut the door.
“BABY!” I heard a familiar voice scream.
I turned around to see Lily running towards me. She stopped when she got me and gave me the biggest hug ever. I also wrapped my arms around her. Oh how much I missed my best friend…
“Thank-you so much for coming back, babe. For a second, I thought you were going to leave me alone with these assholes forever.”
“Same old Lily.” I said, smiling.
“Well what made you change your mind?”
“I- I Uh don’t know really. I guess it has to do with being indoors for over 2 weeks. It gets boring with just my aunt and I…”
“Babe, I am so sorry. I didn’t mean it that way.”
“I know you didn’t. You know what I missed the most?”
“What babe?”
“You!” I said and gave her a hug.
“Come on, Ariana. Let’s go to class.”
“Okay.”
With that we walked into the school.
