The Better End

Hiya all yu guys, I have just realised that the ending that I just deleted was the worst one ever. I have decided to sort of DO IT AGAIN, but better. Thanks!

===============

We stood there, at Hogwarts - yeah, Hogwarts. McGonagall had suggested we fight there, as there was more support and the castle could withstand lots of curses etc. So we were standing in the courtyard.

"Hand her over," Draco Malfoy snarled.

I braced myself and started to step forward to my death, but Kingsley pulled me back.

"No," Ginny yelled.

There was shouts of 'no way' and 'let it go' as people tried to defend me. I glanced over the people in the 'Malfoy' crowd, my eyes scanning generations and generations of Malfoys, come out of hiding to kill me. There was ghosts and wizards alike. Finally, my eyes fell on the person I'd been searching for. I raised my hand and everyone quietened around me.

"Scorpius," I said pleadingly. "Please."

The person I was talking to glanced at Draco Malfoy, then at me. Then he stepped forward, crossing the line; the floor, between the Good and the Bad.

"I am no longer a Malfoy," Scorpius said, ripping his Malfoy crest off his sweater.

I smiled at him gratefully as he curled his fists.

"Well," Draco Malfoy hissed, "I guess I'll have to kill you both."

That was the cue. The Malfoy, the bad side, surged forward. Ginny ran to fight someone, leaving me unprotected. 'Stupid idea,' I thought, running to a quiet corner.

Before I could get to the corner, a hand came out of nowhere and grabbed the back of my dress. I screamed, but my cry went unheard as people fought on.

I was span round to face Draco Malfoy. I stopped resisting as he looked at me in a funny way. There, staring into his face, I thought - just for a moment - that he was regretting, or well, I hoped he was regretting, going into war. To kill me, his 'daughter'. Sadly, he snapped out of his trance and dragged me behind a tapestry. The knife in his pocket cut my hand, and I screamed, but once again no one heard my cry.

"Shut up," Draco Malfoy shouted, slamming the tapestry over the doorway again. I shut up.

"Please, don't," I whispered, holding my bleeding hand, wrapping it in my handkerchief.

He sneered at me. "Don't try. In fact," he said, blowing my wand out of my pocket, "let's make things a little easier."

"I'm sorry," a voice said, the body belonging to it stepping out of the shadows. "But I can't let you do this to her."

I couldn't see who it was, but from the voice I could tell it was a woman. A flash of blinding green light erupted out of her wand and hit Draco Malfoy. He crumpled and dropped to the floor. The woman 'hmmph'ed, nudging the body on the floor.

"Dead," she said, and turned round.

Grandmother Narcissa. She'd killed her own son, to save me. I let out a sob as she came up to me and scooped me in a hug, after healing my hand, of course. I lay in her arms, crying out the tears I'd forgotten to cry over the past few days. As I lay in her arms, I knew that everything was going to work out absolutely fine.

Everything was going to work out fine.
