"Hey Olivia, can you help me bring this to table 8, please?" Eva asked me while grabbing another tray. "I can't balance all of this""Yeah, after you" I said as grabbed the other tray followed her to table 8. Eva gave everyone there coffee and pastry. I stood there waiting for her pass them out and took the other tray back to the counter.
Today is my third day working at The Cafe and it's not that hard as I thought. Making coffee, taking people there orders, cleaning up. Pretty easy job, if I do say myself. There is only three workers that work during the week and that is Eva, Zac and me. Then Friday, Saturday and Sunday there is another set of workers. Zac is the baker, he's been working here since the beginning, and makes delicious pastries. Eva makes the coffee and works behind the counter, and occasionally helps Zac with decorating.
The Cafe is so beautiful, when you walk in. There is booths along the brick wall, and in front of the big glass windows. Rustic tables and white chairs, fresh flowers in mason jars along with napkins with the logo printed on them. Rustic mint chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. White marble table full of pastries in clear glass jars or glass cake holders with cakes, the register next to it. The Cafe name printed on the white marble table in bulb light letters. This cafe is simple but so pretty.
"Olivia can you help me?" Zac said coming out with fresh pumpkin bread.
"Yeah, let me just tell Eva" I told him while wiping the counter down.
"Those men are so fine! Like be the father of kids" Eva said leaning on the counter smiling.
I laughed "Eva! You said that so loud"
She shrugged "At least they know, you can't tell me that they aren't at least attractive?!" She said taking the rag from me and wiped the other side of the counter. "They scream sexy and any of them can take me."
"Oh my gosh Eva!" I said laughing and hitting her arm. "I can't with you" I said walking to the kitchen to help Zac.
"What can I help you with?" I asked him while washing my hands.
"Just frost those Cupcakes with white frosting and then put these chocolate design on them, please" he explained and I got to work.
After doing some of the cupcakes, Zac broke the silence.
"How do you like New York?"
"It's totally different from my North Carolina, but I like it here" I told him while frosting the cupcakes. "You lived here your whole life?"
"yeah, I love New York, couldn't see myself living anywhere else" He told me proudly."Why did you move here?"
"umm, something different" I told him quickly.
Zac just looked at me and nodded his head. "gotcha, have you've been out and seen anything?"
"No, I haven't gotten a chance. Hopefully soon" I told him while placing the chocolate on cupcakes.
"There is a lot to do here" He said while making some batter.
"Someday,What made you become a baker?"
"My mom loved to bake and cook so one day I helped her prepare everything for our Christmas party and ever since then I loved to bake and cook."
"That's so cool, Do you want to own your bakery or restaurant?"
"I really want to become a personal chief and own my own restaurant.
"Wow! that's so cool. I hope your dreams turn out well"
"Same here"
"Hey Olivia, you want to help me wipe down these tables and then lock up?" Eva said coming into the kitchen.
