Chapter 20: Not your fault

We've been home for a five days now and I still can't get over this jet leg and on top of it.... a cold. Just great and just what I need coming back to work and getting use to normal time. This past weekend we started getting rid of stuff, boxes are through out the house. I can't wait to see the house in person and the backyard for Max.

"Are you busy after work today?" I asked Eva as I swept the floors.

"No, what's up?" She asked while wiping the counters.

"I have presents to give you from Spain, can I come over and bring them by or you can come to my house?" I asked her.

"Ooo yes!!! Come over mine" she said excited.

"Okay, I'll go home grab them and then come by. Is that okay?" I asked her.

"Girl yes!" She said.

The next three hours went by fast, it got super busy after lunch. Today I was grateful , only because the time went by fast. We cleaned up the cafe and went our separate ways.

"Max?!" I called out for him. He came running down the stairs and jumped onto his hine legs. 

"Hi boy! I missed you too" I told him giving him kisses and petting him. "Do you wanna go for a walk? Come on, let's go" I told him grabbing his leash.

We walked around for a bit, Max stopping every second to pee. After our little walk, I feed him and went up to my room to shower and get changed.

I put on my black joggers, oversized mauve cropped sweater, a big scarf, and my high top vans.  I grabbed all of Eva gifts and put them in a bag, grabbed my purse is ready to go.

"I'll be back Max, you be a good boy" I told him and walked out the door.

I hailed a taxi and sat back thinking. It feels so weird to be in New York and I miss all the family too. The trip to Spain was so much fun, I'm ready to go back.

When we pulled up to Eva I paid the taxi and made my way to her apartment door.

"Hey! Come in" she said opening the door.

"Hey, I bring gifts, lots" I told her as I walked to her living room.

"Ooo I can't wait to open" she said jumping onto her couch.

I laughed "here you go" I said giving her the bag of all her gifts.

"Oh my goodness Olivia! You got me so much! Thank you though" she said and started pulling out gifts.

I got her a cute button up blue and white shirt with the matching bottoms. The flats I bought myself I got her a pair, some candy, a cute touristy shirt, and then what she asked for which was a key chain and sweater that said Madrid.

"Thank you Olivia" she said giving me hug.

"Your welcome, I had to get you this stuff. I saw it and it screamed you" I said pulling out of the hug.

"I love them all, how was Spain. Give me a overview of it all" she said folding her clothes.

I told her everything that we did, all the cool places we saw, showing her pictures on my phone. I just didn't tell her about my little breakdown with the home video.

"Wow! Spain sounds so beautiful, I have to go there"

"Yes you do! You will so love it" I told her while I got comfortable on her couch. "Thank you agin for watching Max for me, I really mean it."

"Oh no problem, I love him. Daniel was scared of him at first but then Daniel warmed up to him. My apartment is so lonely now" she said laughing.

I was still confused on Daniel being scared of him. "Eva what do you mean Daniel was scared of Max, did Max do something?"
