Imagine: Being adopted by Batman/Bruce Wayne but dating Joker in secret.

You could feel the eyes of your step father on you but you simply ignored them. You were to happy at the moment to care about what was going on around you. You read the text over and over again. You wanted to squeal in excitement but contained yourself.

"(y/n)? What are you so happy about?" asked your step father, Bruce, with curiosity in his eyes but a slight smile on his lips. You looked away from your phone and turned it off.

"Oh, nothing. (best friend name) was sending me stupid pick up lines. It was funny how stupid they were." you said smiling back. Bruce nodded his head and continued to eat his lunch.

"Hey dad," you started. Bruce looked back at you with curiosity once again. He remained silent and waited for you to continue.

"Can I go out with (best friend name) for a while?" you asked politely with a hopeful smile on your lips. Bruce gave you the look. You looked down at your hands on your lap and smiled sheepishly. 'Here comes the lecture...' you thought to yourself.

"(y/n), I don't like holding you back from the world but after last week am not sure I want to let you go out," Bruce began till you cut him off. Your smile was gone and was replaced with a slightly upset look.

"But dad! It wasn't my fault! I told you (beat friend name) wanted to stay out a bit later and I couldn't leave him/her by his/her self in Gotham." you said in defense. Bruce raised an eye brow, meaning, he was questioning your story.

"Really? How did staying out later with (beat friend name) get you in the hospital for three days?" Bruce questioned you. You remained quiet and started to think of another excuse.

"We live in Gotham dad, wouldn't you be questioning further if I wasn't in the hospital for staying out late?" you said with a slightly more cheerful voice. Bruce cracked a smiled and shook his head.

"I don't understand you sometimes times." Bruce shook his head and sighed. You sweetly smile at Bruce hoping to get on his good side.

"Fine, you can go out with (best friend name)," Bruce started but was cut off by you jumping out of your chair and cheering. Bruce cleared his throat and this regained your attention.

"But, you can not stay out late and I can't get a phone call from the police or hospital saying they have you in their custody." Bruce said sternly to you. You laughed and nodded your head quickly.

You sat back down and quickly finished your lunch. Once done you hugged Bruce and kissed him the cheek. You thanked him and left to your room to get ready.

Once in your room you pulled out your phone and messaged your loving boyfriend.

"What time are you coming?"

It wasn't long till you got a reply back. You smiled and quickly opened the message. Your heart fluttered in happiness.

"I'll be there in an hour. Be ready."

You might have been telling your step father a little lie about going out with your best friend. The reason you ended in the hospital last week was because, while out with your boyfriend, you had gotten badly injured. Your boyfriend was the most wanted man in Gotham. You were dating the Clown Prince of Crime, Joker.

You might have been using (beat friend name) in order to see him and using (best friend name) as an excuse. It was always hard for you to see Joker. With him on the run from Batman and busy with 'work' it was hard for you both to spend time together.

Not only was he busy or on the run but your step father wasn't as easy going. He was pretty strict with rules about going out. So you told little lies to see your boyfriend who made you happy. You always told yourself, "What he doesn't know won't kill him."

This request took my a LONG time. Don't know why, it just did. Hope you enjoyed it though.
