A/N: The characters might be OoC. I own nothing and please enjoy.

It was a relatively peaceful day, considering we were still at war, when I saw princess Elise and prince Ryoma head out. Walking over to them out of curiosity I asked where they were heading.
"I was going to show Ryoma how to make daisy crowns. Want to join? The more the merrier after all." Elise proposed excitedly.
"I certainly wouldn't mind. Maybe I'll invite Takumi, he seemed rather down lately." Ryoma said while looking around for the archer.
"If you excuse me princess, I will be right back." He excused himself before walking away in search of his little brother.

~time skip~

Ryoma had found Takumi practicing and told him he should take a break, reluctantly he agreed and decided to accompany us. We found ourselves on a beautiful little clearing full of all sorts of flowers, mostly daisies, and sat down to enjoy the scenery and watch Ryoma fail at making a flower crown.
"Good! Now slip that end into the loop there." Elise and I said to him in unison as Takumi watched with mild amusement.
Looking at Takumi I smile.
"Why don't you try it? I bet you can make a good flower crown if you try." I asked him while smiling slightly.
"I know that, I just don't want too. Its a waste of time." Takumi said while scoffing and looking away.
"Come on just look at them and tell me it doesn't look enjoyable to just let go of your worries, even for a little bit." I said while motioning towards a laughing Elise and smiling Ryoma.
"Ah, I see. I'm not very experienced with handling delicate things. Like this?" Ryoma asked while trying to do as Elise had instructed.
"Yeah! You did it! It took a little while, but you did it! You made your first daisy crown! And it's pretty! You did a good job." Elise praised as she gave him a congratulatory clap.
Looking over to Takumi I could see how much he wished to join, yet his pride prevented him from engaging in such childish activities. Yet here was Ryoma, crown prince of Hoshido and his older brother, enjoying himself and the company the two Norhian women provided.
"Heh. I'm glad you like it. Now to present this crown of flowers to Her Highness, Princess Elise of Nohr. My princess, I hope you will accept my most humble gift of woven daisies." Ryoma said dramatically as he gently laid the daisy crown on top the short blondes head.
"Heehee, thanks! I will accept your garlands with pleasure!" The Norhian princess giggled as she leaned forward a bit for Ryoma to place the crown correctly.
They didn't look like members of previously opposing armies ready to kill each other if necessary. They simply appeared as friends enjoying a good time.
"Takumi, turn around for me." I asked sweetly. I wanted to try something that would most likely bother him later.
"What? Why?" He asked yet nonetheless doing as I asked. He was still cautious around members of the opposing army, yet thankfully he has begun to trust the Norhians more.
"I just want to play with your hair okay. Nothing bad, I promise." 'Just going to cover it with flowers is all.' I though while giggling a little to myself.
"Hmm...fine. Just don't try anything." He said to me, still slightly tense but but mostly relaxed as he felt my fingers run through his ponytail.

As Elise, Ryoma, Takumi and I conversed I slowly and stealthily added more and more flowers to the hair of a now sleepy Takumi. We were there for a while and the conversations were mostly normal yet one question aimed at me in particular caught me off guard.

"Hey (Y/N) do you like anybody?" Elise asked innocently enough.
"Well...of course I do. I like you and Ryoma is nice, Corrin is pretty sweet and likable too. Felicia and Flora are good friends of mine so I like them too-" I stalled while smiling knowing she was going to correct my 'mistake'.
"No (Y/N), I mean romantically. Is there a special guy or girl in your life?" Elise persisted as she scooted closer to inspect my work on Takumi's hair. Thankfully saying nothing about it and neither did Ryoma.
"Hmm.... is there anybody I like romantically....Well there is that one guy...but he's out of my league-" I got interrupted by Elise once more.
"You should totally tell him! Right Ryoma, shouldn't (Y/N) tell the guy her feelings? I bet they will be really happy too." Elise said as she tugged at Ryoma's sleeve frantically. Chuckling he replied.
"You should. He should be honored to have you by his side." Already knowing who I was referring too Ryoma stood up and offered a hand to Elise.
"Shall we go, my lady. Its getting late and we forgot to inform your retainers where we were."
"Alright, see you later Takumi and (Y/N)." She waved goodbye while taking Ryoma's helping hand to lift herself up.

As they walked away both now wearing nearly identical daisy crowns I look back to my handy work on Takumi's hair and give me a mental pat on the back. It looked great and the colors were well spread out. As I was about to adjust a particular orange flower that had begun to slip loose I notice Takumi was turning around.
"Is it true that you...like somebody?" He asked still not facing me completely. His face had a sad expression and it hurt me to see him like this. He has gone through so much, we all have, and he takes his anger out on others while on the inside he blames himself. I'm one of the few who truly understand because I too was like that.
"Yes, I do. He is a great fighter with a big heart. He is kind yet stubborn and rather self conscious. He thinks of himself as never being good enough when in reality he is perfect." Ryoma left with Elise to allow me this moment with the younger prince, I had to do this now. 'I want to help overcome the darkness in your heart Takumi.'
"He must really be great for you to say such nice things about him. I don't think I'll ever be as perfect as him." Takumi sounded sadder by the second but hopefully not for long. 'If you give me a chance I know I can help you see how great you truly are.'
"Your right. Nobody can be as perfect as you Takumi." I clarified before leaning forward and giving him a quick kiss. The angle was awkward and his shock made it one sided but still. Hopefully he got the point.
It took a few seconds to process and even longer for coherent words to actually be spoken.
"You love me? Wha-Why?" Takumi asked finally turning around completely and facing me.
"Did you not hear all the traits I listed before? I love you Takumi, no matter what."
"But Im not anybody extraordinary like Ryoma. Im not as important as him, or as skilled."
Sighing I grab a hold of his hands and look at him straight in the eyes.
"Your right. You are not Ryoma. You are nothing like him, and thats good. I don't love Ryoma I love you." I said to him clearly as I leaned in once more for a proper kiss.
As our lips met I felt him finally reciprocate. It was short and sweet, it lasted around five seconds but as we parted I could see that wonderful smile of his.
"While you were messing with my hair I actually...tried to do a flower crown too. Its not the best but I made it for you." Turning around he picked up the daisy crown he made while I wasn't paying attention, it wasn't as neatly done as Elise's crowns but it was impressive for a first time.
"I love it. At first the feelings I had for you confused me. And after I came to terms with them I hid them, seeings as you are royalty."
"That may be true. But in a confusing world, we must cling to the few fragments of truth we share. And the truth is that I love you, (Y/N), and you love me. Let's build a future on that." Takumi finally said as he placed the flower crown on my head and kissed me once more.
"Y-yes. I think you're right. Let's give it a shot. What's the worst that could happen?" I said after we parted for air.
"If you were aiming for my heart, you've struck true. This was meant to be..."
"It truly is...Your hair looks great by the way."
"...What? Why? What did you do?"
"You'll see."
