Surprises

Chapter 27

It was Monday now and we needed paint for the living room. Ash picked everyone up today and we went to Lowe's for paint.

"Hey beautiful" Ash whispered in my ear. I giggled then said "hey."

Once we arrived at Lowe's , we headed towards the paint section.

"So what color are you guys painting the living room?" Ty asked.

" I was thinking tan" Erin said.

"Me too" I exclaimed and gave her a high five.

"Hello, my name is Anthony. Can I help you with anything?"

"Umm, yeah, could you show us some paint samples of a tan color please." Erin asked ashton.

"Yeah. Sure! if you could please follow me this way" he said. I could tell he was checking me out and Ashton knew too. He put his arm around my waist and I kissed his cheek. Anthony's smile turned upside down. Oh well. I was taken.

Once we found the color, we got 2 gallons and new brushes.

"Anything else?" Anthony asked.

"No thanks again for helping us." I said. He smiled again then said,

"No problem."

We arrived back at our dorm and got everything set up. We started painting and it took a few hours because there were two boys that didn't feel like painting.

"Come on guys! can you please help us paint ?" Erin whined. I laughed and say on Ashton's lap. He was sitting on the couch then wrapped his arms around me.

"I don't feel like it" Ty retorted.

" They complain to much" I whispered in Ashton's ear. He chuckled.

"They do. Why don't you go get changed then I'll take you out to lunch." He whispered in my ear.

"Ok I'll be right back" I said.

We had gone to chick-fill-a for lunch and we were now at some park down the street from my dorm.

" So are you excited that you're going to start college soon?" Ash asked.

"Yeah, but I'm a little nervous" I confessed.

He grabbed my hand and said, "don't be."

"I know I shouldn't but college started in 5 days!" I exclaimed.

"I don't know of I'm going to U of I or Lewis university."

"It's going to be hard if you go to a different school than me" I said looking down.

He put his index finger under my chin and said "look at me". I looked up into his green orbs that made me melt.

"I know it's hard but Lewis is giving me a 3/4 ride and U of I is only giving me 1/2 the tuition. Meg, I really want to go to the same school as you, but I think that you should know-"

I cut him off before he could finish. "Don't tell me" I said. I felt the tears around the brim of my eyes threatening to spill.

He engulfed me into a hug. "Please don't cry, Meg."

"Ash! You said we were going to the same college!" I said as the tears started running down my cheeks.

"Megan!" Ash yelled after me since I started running away. He lied to me. He always said we'd go to the same college. He promised. I just wanted to sit here and cry.

The weather wasn't helping either. The sky's started getting darker and and thunder was cracking.

"Megan" Ashton said once he saw me. He wrapped his arms around me. I felt so safe when I was with him. I don't want him to go.

"I'm sorry. I overreacted. It's just sad to think that my boyfriend, my best friend isn't going to the same college as me." I said.

Ash started to wipe the tears off of my cheeks that had fallen. He pulled me into another hug and whispered into my ear, "it's ok. No matter where we go, what college we go to, I'll always be yours. Forever." He finished then kissed the top of my head.

"Forever"

I repeated.
