My hand reached for the door knob once again attempting to turn it countless times all ending in the same devastating result. It was locked from the outside. Both my fists curled up pounding on the frame but I knew that no one was going to hear my efforts.
“Seriously.” I looked up at what should have been the sky. This was unfair. I was trying to right a wrong and this was how it was going to end.
I knew exactly who had locked the door. Nancy had lured me here and I knew it was her and if I ever got the chance I was going to slap her.
“Is anyone here?” I question already knowing that no one was going to answer. The fear was overwhelming.
If this was a horror movie I would be dead already but I was hoping I had a happier ending. Slowly I felt across the wall feeling for a light switch. There were shelves with boxes everywhere. Stepping around all the boxes I felt lost as if this room was never ending. In the midst of my confusion the light flicked on.
A small crack of light came from another door. There was a light on in a separate room giving a rectangle glow.
“Stella always keeps her promises Zack. You know that she is just messing with you because you pissed her off. You shouldn’t be helping her out Zack.” By the way she said her I knew she was referring to me.
I headed towards the door hoping that it wasn’t locked.
“Thanks,” he said while I heard shuffles behind the door.
“But here is your money. The money you paid for your bid is all in the envelope. Stella obviously has a heart because I would have let Eden string you along and crush your dreams. Do you remember the deal?” Without Sandra or Stella with their hands up her ass, Nancy was free to say whatever she wanted.
“I remember, now leave,” his voice was low but carried.
The door handled jiggled but my feet froze where I was standing. Zack was about to find me hiding behind another door. A light went off in my head.
Zack had bid money on me at the auction, not Adam. Zack must have given him his ticket after I yelled at him. While my thoughts hovered over my head the door swung open almost hitting me in the face. Zack stood in the door way angered as to why I was here.
