“Okay let’s just get this over with.” Opening the car door my hand was shaking. I attempted to remain cool but the person that usually calmed me down wasn’t here. Mimi had left without me and I couldn’t help but feel a sting of pain because of it.
“So?” Zack spoke after both of us stood outside of the car staring at the place before us. The windows had black paper covering the usually clear windows. Taking a second look at the address it only confirmed that this was exactly where we were supposed to be.
“Can you just hang out for a couple hours until we are done? We have no way of getting back home and your heading in the same direction anyways.” My hands rested on the door looking inside at Zack who wore a blank expression. There was no smirk anywhere to be found.
He nodded his head before putting it in park. The other guys in the back seat just looked dumbfounded about what should be done next.
“Thanks.” I muttered awkwardly without addressing anyone else within the car. Zack was the wrench tossed into the mix that made things a lot more interesting.
“Come on lets go.” Jordan pulled my arm seeing that I obviously needed a push yet again. In my mind I pictured a large tattooed man about to give me a thousand needles into my skin that would lead to a nasty infection.
“I think I’m going to be sick.” There was a threat of vomit about to spill over the pavement.
“Suck it up buttercup.” Jordan opened the door before pushing me through it. Like Jordan had said sometimes people just needed a gentle shove or a good kick in the ass.
The only person in site was Sandra who was flipping through a magazine sitting behind a desk. The walls were a fluorescent green that instantly gave me a head ache. Examples of artwork were displayed across the walls. I gulped.
“Finally!” Sandra exclaimed throwing the magazine across the desk. She stood up pushing the chair against the wall.
“I’ve been waiting for you guys to get here. I had to come up with the most ridiculous reason to why you were late. You’ve missed my speech so I guess I will give you the revised version.” Taking a deep breath she smiled at the both of us until the door dung behind us.
