Chapter 7: Memories

"Cassy, stop running!"

"Come on Myra, if you want to be part of our group you have beat me!"

"It's no fair! You got a head start and you're taller than me!"

"Well I guess the boys and I will have fun without you!"

"No! I will keep going, I promise I won't complain!"
She said as she caught up to him.

"Waaaaaaah!!!!! Cassy wit hurks a fwot!" The girl said crying out loud as she held her knee.

"I told you not to run down hill, you're dad is gonna be mad at me now." The boy said bending down.

She cried and cried until the boy put a bandaid on her knee. He wiped her tears off and hugged her.

"There stop crying, we should get going now." The boy said as he faced his back towards her.

"Get on." The boy said blushing.

The girl looked at him and began to cry again, "T-Thank wou!"

She got on his back and the whole ride home she was crying, tears of happiness and of sadness.

"Well I'll see you later. Hopefully we can play this whole week again." The boy said sadly.

"Mhm...bye Cassy, next time I promise to hold in my tears." The girl said hugging the boy before they parted ways.

"I don't want to say goodbye yet, daddy I want to stay." The girl said as she tugged her father's shirt.

He looked at her and took her hand off of him, "Go say goodbye."

"Cassy, this won't be goodbye. I want to stay but daddy said we have to go because of his job. I know we promised but I want to be with you." The girl said looking at her shoes.

"It's okay Myra, I will see you again and I promise I will see you before I grow up. This isn't goodbye, I will miss you but your dad needs you." He said lifting the girl's face.

"Cassy... I promised I wouldn't cry, but is it okay to cry right now? I know I promised but..."

"It's okay to cry, cry when you need to cry. Don't hold back because you can always cry in my shoulder." He said as she hugged him and cried.

A damn broke and tears fell nonstop, she cried and cried loudly. The thought of leaving a friend behind broke her heart, he was dear to her and it was like a part of her was being left.

"You should get going. You're dad is waiting but I'll try to contact you somehow, this is not the end okay." He said patting her head.

She faced him a land gave him her last smile and walked away not looking back, she knew if she did she would of ran back to him. Ever since that day their bond grew distant and weaker, their string of fate getting thinner and thinner.
