Chapter 14: Promise

The rain poured as if it was crying alongside the five year old girl, it hid away the sun completely so only grief could be seen. The girl that believed she can live in a happily ever after fairy tail was laughed by the world and had destroyed her illusion. It brought loneliness as it also brought death, her mother had perished and all she had left was a father who couldn't stand seeing her. She was the spitting image of her "mother", she felt so guilty that she as well disliked looking at herself. The only comfort she had was a five year old boy with jet black hair, he would be her light in her darkest days.

"Myra, hurry up or else we're going to be late!" The boy said as he ran ahead.

"W-Wait, Cassy! You're too fast!" The girl said as she tried to keep on.

The boy stopped and waited for the girl to catch up. "Hahaha, Myra you're face looks like a tomato!"

"That's not funny! You made me run when I told you to wait." She pouted.

"Alright children, you can stop fighting. And Castiel, you know you shouldn't be making fun of girls." The boy's mother said.

"Ms. Valerie is it okay that I came? I'm not being annoying?" The girl said with a somber face.

"By heavens no. Sweetie, you're like a daughter to me, if you need any help or feel in trouble feel free to rely on us." The mother said as she ruffled the girl's hair.

The girl's face gleamed in happiness and a smile appeared in her face.

"Let's go mom, we're going to miss the dolphin show." The boy said as he ran ahead.

They finally entered the aquarium, as the mother's boy payed the children ran off to see the fish.

"Look Myra, that one looks like you. It's red and has fat cheeks." The boy said laughing.

"That doesn't look like me!" The girl said angrily.

"Castiel, I told you to be nice to girls!" His mother said as she smacked his head.

"Ow!" The boy said grabbing his head.

"That's what you get!" The girl said sticking her tongue out.

They continued looking around and enjoyed the aquarium and it's creatures. They were heading out when the boy noticed that his friend was no longer beside him.

"Mom! Myra disappeared!" The boy said frantically.

"Oh dear, where did she go?" The mother said as she began to look for the girl.

They went back to the places they had visited and called out her name but they couldn't find her, not until the staff  broadcasted that a lost young girl was in the entrance.

"I'm sorry!!" The girl said as she was crying.

"It's okay sweetie." The mother said as she hugged the girl.

"I was scared, I was by Cassy but then I got distracted by the fishes and when I turned around you were gone!" She cried.

"Dummy." The boy said as he patted her head.

After resolving the problem they headed back home. The two children talked amongst each other about their favorite sighting in the aquarium.

"Myra you're home now, say you're goodbyes before I walk you out." The boy's mother said.

"Mom I can walk her out." The boy said.

"Oh my, well don't take too long."

The children got out of the car and walked to the girl's house and stopped in front of the door.

"Well...I'll see you later Cassy." The girl said as she tugged her shirt.

"It was fun today, I like when we hang out." The boy said looking away.

"Cassy, I don't want to be alone anymore...I don't know what I would do if you left me. Just like today, I was scared when we got separated. I hate being alone." She said as she bit her lip.

"Don't bite too hard, it's okay to cry. But you shouldn't worry, I won't ever leave you." He said as he ruffled her hair.

With a faint voice that had a hint of nervousness, the girl said, "Y-You promise... to always be my side no matter what."

"I promise to always by your side even when you stand alone, I promise." The boy said reassuring her that she didn't have to face the world alone.

Overcome with joy the girl began to cry and before he left they sealed their promise with their pinky.
