Chapter 9: Christmas story

"Merry Christmas Cassy!!!!"

"M-Merry Christmas?"

"Cassy you have to be excited when you say it!"

"Who said that?"

"I did! If you smile too it gives it a warm feeling to it!"

"S-Sure whatever you say. It's not even Christmas yet"

"Cassy!!!"

"What happened and stop yelling."

"Hurry up or we won't make it to class on time!" The girl said as she began to run.

"Hold up Myra!"

The school bell rang and both were seated and class began. Children were happy because Christmas was only two weeks away, all of them jittery and excited for presents.

"Now children, make sure you write what you want on your letter. So you can hand them in and for Santa Claus to receive them." The teacher said as she passed out blank papers.

"Myra what are you going to write."

"I can't tell you, it's a secret." She said as she began to write happily.

The boy smiled as he saw her innocence and let her enjoy herself.

"Children make sure you turn in your letter before you leave out the door." The teacher said before dismissing the class.

"Her you go Mrs. Loraine! Oh and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!" The girl said giving her a toothy grin.

"You too Myra, remember be a good girl if you want Santa to give you a present." The teacher said patting the young girl on the head.

"Cassy I'm going to be super duper good this year!! Hopefully Santa sees my letter!" The girl says almost squealing.

"Hahahaha!! You still believe in Santa, he's not real at all. You're parents have been lying to you and you're an idiot who believes that!" A young boy mocked.

"You're lying!!! Santa is real and he's always giving me the presents I want!!" The girl protested back.

"You haven no proof he's real but I do have proof that he's fake. At night before Christmas, check if it's really Santa leaving those presents." The boy said coldly.

"S-Shut up!! He's real isn't that right Cassy?" The girl said looking at her friend.

Her friend stayed quiet as he averted her gaze, thinking what words to say that wouldn't hurt her.

"Cassy... he's real right?" The girl said softly.

"See even he knows he's fake! Like I said they're all liars, SANTA IS NOT REAL!" He said right to her face.

"Liar!!!" She said as she pushed him away and ran away.

She ran and ran, before she knew it she was in a park near her house.

"Stupid boy... stupid Cassy!! H-He is real!!" The girl said as she bent down and cried.

"M-Myra...a-are you okay?" The boy said trying to catch his breath.

"Stupid." She said wiping her tears.

"I'm sorry, I wanted to tell you sooner but..."

"You could of just lied like you did." She said looking at her feet.

"I wanted to tell you before you found out, I knew this would be your reaction. So I wanted to be the first to tell you so someone else couldn't hurt you."

"Well you were late on that."

"It's okay to believe, if that's what makes you happy then believe and I'll support you." He said patting her head.

"There's no point to do that is there."

"Sigh. Well instead of being all gloomy, how about we go and get some hot chocolate." He said trying to cheer her up.

"I don't want to." She said pouting.

"Well then I'll go alone and drink hot chocolate with marshmallows and some cookies then." He said standing up.

"W-Wait...I wanna go too." She said with a red face. 

"I don't know, you're being too gloomy to have hot chocolate." He said with a smirk.

"N-No I'm not! See, I don't have tears anymore!" She said wiping her tears furiously.

"Mmmm...should I take you?"

"Yes!!! Come on let's go!!" She said running ahead of him.

"Myra wait up!" He said catching up to her.

"Thank you Cassy!" She said hugging him.

"Myra." He said softly.

"Huh." She said looking at him.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS!" He said giving her a huge smile.

"S-Stupid. It's not Christmas yet." She said looking away.

"Come on or it's going to close!" He said running as he grabbed her hand.

"W-Wait!" She said with a flushed face.
