Part 21

[Note: This part is written from a third person's point of view]

Stacey woke up to find herself in a hospital bed. An IV was strapped to her hand. Her head ached slightly. She turned to see someone seated by her bed. It was Amber. Her eyes were closed and she was sleeping.

As Stacey's eyes got adjusted to the bright sunlight in the room, she found that there was another person in the room. One look at his wavy short brown hair and long limbs, Stacey knew that the person was none other than Tom Westorio.

'Tom is alive' rejoiced Stacey. Her face broke into a wide and happy smile.

Tom was sleeping too. But he woke up just at the moment.

"Stacey?" called out Tom with surprise.

Stacey grinned.

"Oh Stacey! You woke up" Said Tom in his cheery old voice. With two big strides, he was there by the bed.

Tom's loud voice woke Amber up.

"Oh my Gosh Stacey" said Amber as she wrapped her arms around Stacey in an embrace.

"It's okay Amber. I am fine now" said Stacey patting her back.

"I'll go get the nurse" said Amber as she let go of Stacey and sprinted towards the door.

Tom and Stacey were left with each other.

"Gosh! What happened? Where am I?" asked Stacey, running a hand through her rummaged hair.

"You drowned. I brought you to the hospital" said Tom with a constant smile on his face.

"But.. but.. the curse. How did you..?" asked a puzzled Stacey.

"You broke the curse Stacey" said Tom. His bright blue eyes sparkled with his every word.

"You are my true love"

"Oh" Stacey replied as the obvious slowly dawned on her. She snapped her hand and there was no fire. Her curse was broken too.

"When you broke the curse, everything reversed itself. All my ice vanished and we fell into the sea. You were unconscious and drowned. Luckily enough, I found you and brought you to shore" explained Tom.

"Why didn't you tell me before? That you loved me? You could have broken this curse sooner you know?"said Stacey. Her brown eyes displayed concern.

"You never told me that you had a crush on me since seventh grade" Tom grinned.

"How did you know that I had a crush on you?" asked Stacey. Her ears turned pink in embarrassment.

"Amber and I had a nice little chat while you were asleep" admitted Tom with a sheepish grin.

"Amber, you brat!" scolded Stacey clenching her fists and hitting the bed.

Tom laughed out loud.

"Can I call my mom? I think I should let her know where I am" said Stacey suddenly remembering about her parents.

"Oh they are already here" said Tom as he stretched back on the chair near my bed."We called them as soon as we admitted you in the hospital. Don't worry though. Amber covered for you".

Stacey was grateful for her friend Amber and for Tom too.

Just then someone else entered the room.

"Hey kiddo!" said a grumpy voice. It was Roberra, the witch who had cursed Stacey. She was not wearing a hood, like the last time when Stacey saw her. Instead she wore a dark tank top and black jeans.

"So you broke my curse. Congratulations!"She said in a sarcastic tone.

Behind her entered Sanberra or Sabrina who was her sister.

Now, even though they were sisters as far as appearance goes, they looked hardly related.

Roberra sported a funky look with purple hair, dark eyes, lots of earrings in her ear, black lipstick and all.

Sanberra, on the other hand looked angelic with her sand brown hair and pretty blue eyes. She always dressed herself in skirts and shirts.

"Sabrina!" exclaimed Tom as he saw her.

He ran to her and embraced her.

"I am sorry I froze you" he said with remorse.

"No Tom" said Sabrina/Sanberra. There was guilt in her eyes too.

"I am the one who should apologize to you. I lied to you. I am not really your cousin."

"Sabrina, what are you saying?" asked a puzzled Tom.

"My real name is Sanberra and I am witch. I was the one who cursed you" said Sabrina/ Sanberra as she hung her head down.

"You cursed me? But why?" asked Tom. He was really confused now.

Sanberra let out a heavy sigh and began to answer his question.

"When my ill-tempered sister Roberra cursed little Stacey, I was worried. I wanted to help Stacey. But I knew that the curse can only be lifted by true love. I started searching for Stacey's true love. After months of observation, I found out that Stacey loved You. So I cursed you with a water curse. I thought you would be helpful to Stacey when she turned sixteen. Turned out I was right. You were really helpful to young Stacey. When you first turned sixteen you were baffled by your powers. I took pity on you and disguised as your cousin who had just returned from abroad. I helped you get through with your powers. I hoped you would fall in love soon and break your curse, but you were headstrong in your decision to keep your power still the end and as a result it devoured you."

Tom looked at her with a mouth open expression.

"Is this even true?"asked Tom finally.

"Yes Tom. It is" answered Stacey solemnly nodding her head.

Tom fell back on the chair nearby unable to believe even a word that he had heard.

"Well" Roberra clapped her hands, "All is well that ends well. Both the kids got their curse broken. What an unhappy little day! Let's go San. Our work here is done. Say goodbye now."

Even though Sanberra was not actually Tom's cousin, she loved him like a little brother.

"Tom, please tell me that you will forgive me" pleaded Sanberra.

Tom looked up at her smiled.

"Of course I forgive you, Sabrina err..Sanberra. If it were not for you we would have never found each other, even though we lived in the same town and go to the same school." he said looking at Stacey. There was a pleasant smile in his face.

"Oh thank you Tom" said Sanberra clutching her hands together in joy.

"And my apologies to you too Stacey" said Sanberra turning to Stacey.

"I am sorry that my sister cursed you"

"It's alright. I forgive you Roberra" said Stacey loud enough for Roberra to hear.

Roberra had turned to leave. She stopped.

"Whatever" she said shrugging and turned her neck to get a one last look of Stacey. "Next time, think twice before bothering a witch will ya" she said and walked out of the room.

"Come on Sanberra we have other business to attend" yelled Roberra from outside.

"Ok then. I have to leave. I'll see you guys later?" asked Sanberra to Tom and Stacey.

"Absolutely" replied tom in his cheerful voice.

"You can drop in anytime, Sanberra" said Stacey smiling.

Sanberra waved them a goodbye and followed her sister out of the room.
