It's been almost a month now. My powers started growing stronger and stronger. I discovered that I can jump to high distance, by high I mean really high distance using the thrust from my flames. Flying was too risky. My powers tend to go out of control every time I try to fly. I also discovered that I can absorb fire.

One day, out of the blue, Tom called me. He used to text me now and then after my little performance with the elementals, but he rarely made a phone call.

"Stacey, Are you home?" he asked.

"Yeah, why?" I asked back.

"There is a fire at a forest ten miles from town. You think you can help put the fire out?" he asked in a hurry.

"I can absorb them, if that's what you mean." I said. I had told him about my ability to absorb fire.

"Okay, be ready. I will be outside your home in five" he said and hanged the line.

I stood outside my house when I saw Tom's car turn along our road. He stopped before my house. The side door opened and I got in.

"It's a huge fire. The fire engines couldn't put them off. The wind is blowing hard and there is a chance that the fire may spread to the nearby towns." Tom updated me on the forest fire.

He drove towards the forest area. We could easily spot the fire from a distance.

"What caused the fire?" I asked looking at the now ragging fire that was devouring the forest.

"Some careless campers" replied Tom as he drove straight towards the fire zone.

"Stop here" I said not wanting to get too close to the fire. The car screeched to a halt.

I got down and walked right into the fire, absorbing them as I advanced.

The fire was too massive and more than I could absorb.

"Tom" I called turning back. "The fire is too strong to absorb. A little help with that transpiration trick?" I asked.

"Sorry Stacey" he shouted back. He stood a good ten feet away from the fire. "The air is too dry. No water vapour here."

I turned back to face the fire again. With one deep breath, I started absorbing all the fire in front of me. At one point I heard Tom shout

"Stacey, enough! You are absorbing too much." He warned.

I only absorbed more. I absorbed almost all the fire and fainted on the process. There was fire surrounding me. Even though I had fire powers, when unconscious, fire could still hurt me.

"Stacey!"I heard Tom shouting again, before I closed my eyes and blacked out. I had absorbed beyond my limit.

When I opened my eyes, there was something soft on my eye lashes. I brought my hands to my eyes to rub them off. The soft substance turned to water. I sat up straight and looked around. The fire was gone. Instead, there was ice on the ground. It was also snowing slightly.

I looked around to find Tom. He lay near a tree. I went near him and bent down. His eyes were closed. I touched his face and his eyes fluttered open. He blinked for a second and sat up. He looked around the place shocked.

"Let's get out of here" he said getting up.

I nodded and followed him to the car. The ice on the ground was melting by now.

"I didn't know you can create ice" I said as I got in the car.

"I can't" he replied starting the engine. He looked shaken and there was a shocked expression in his face.
