Ice skating

WARNING: this imagine is going to be very sad.
It was the middle of winter and you and your boyfriend went to your favorite lake that was now frozen. Even though it was snowing for days it was warm out

His POV-

" you really want to go to the lake?" I asked

" yea (h/n) it will be fun" (y/n) said

" ok dress warm and don't forget gloves " I said realizing that I sounded like a mother

" ok mom " (y/n) said laughing. " I'm ready " ( y/n) said running outside like a kid

" ok ok calm down " I said as we walked to the lake

10 minutes later

" yay we are here " (y/n) said staring for the frozen lake

" stop (y/n) " I almost screamed getting an annoyed and confused look from (y/n)

" why everyone else is on the lake babe. It's ok" (y/n) smiling at me

" yea but you don't know how .." I started before she cut me off

" oh come on I'll be fine " (y/n) said kissing me before pulling me out on the ice. " stop freaking out everything is ok" (y/n) said

" ok" I said still a little scared of the ice

" babe if your uncomfortable you can get off the ice. I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable " (y/n) said with a small smile

" thanks for the permission love but I think I'll stay with you" I said not wanting to leave her alone

" aww thanks " (y/n) twirling around on the ice

1 hour later

" babe it's getting late and a lot colder we should leave" I said

" just 5 more minutes " (y/n) begged

" (y/n) everyone else has left we really should go" I said getting worried

" (h/n) calm down. Just a few more minutes" (y/n) said spinning around until she slipped on a twig falling on her face

" oh my god (y/n) are you ok?" I said running to her quickly calling 911. " (y/n) can you hear me " I asked terrified

" hello this is 911 what's your emergency " some lady said on the phone

" my girlfriend fell and got her head on ice and I'm not sure if she's conscious" I said panicking

" ok sir where are you?" The lady asked

" we are on the lake near ( place the lake is near )" I said

" ok sir stay calm I have some people coming out to help you " the lady said

20 minutes later

" we are here sir " I heard someone yell.

" over here. On the ice" I said through tears

" ok sir can you tell me how long ago it was she hit her head?" One guy asked slowly walking over to me with his equipment

" umm like 20 minutes ago" I said

" ok can I ask you to sit on that bench over there?" They guy asked. " I don't want to scare you but I don't want too much weight on the ice just in case " the guy said

" ok" I said walking away tears streaming down. I could have prevented this. We could be at home cuddling together by the fire while we fight over witch Christmas movie to watch. One little damn twig and It was like my entire world was coming to an end.

" ok do you want to ride with us sir" one of the paramedics said

" yes. Yes please " I said getting into the emergency van

30 minutes later

" when will I know if she's ok " I asked as they put her in a room

" sir we need you to step out for a little bit" a nurse said

" why what's wrong " I asked panicking

" we have to stitch up her wound and give her an IV. She has lost a lot of blood and is unconscious " the nurse said

" ok" I said walking into the waiting room pacing back and fourth. What if she hates me after this, I mean this is my fault.

1 hour later

" sir do you want to see her?" A nurse asked as I walked in

"(Y/n) how are you?" I asked

" (h/n).." (y/n) spoke out weakly

" yea it's me I'm here babe" I said feeling tears rolling down my cheeks again

" b..babbe.. I..it's no..t your f..fault" (y/n) barley got out looking at me. I could see the pain in her eyes and it killed me

" yes it is (y/n) I could have picked you up and we could have been home right now" I said holding her hand rubbing tiny circles

" (b/n) p..please " (y/n) said squeezing my hand with all her strength. " it's n..ot your f..fault" (y/n) said closing her eyes. " I l..love you" (y/n) said

" I love you too " I said kissing her forehead as I heard a loud beeep

" I'm sorry son " a nurse said giving me a sympathetic look as she undid all the plugs and wires from (y/n). " there was nothing you could do son" the nurse said looking at me. " there was nothing else we could have done" she said walking out of the room giving me a minute

" she's gone " I said feeling more year flooding down. " I love you (y/n). " I said as I walked out of the room.
