CHAPTER TWENTY: INTRESTING

The shining bright light above me blinds me as I wake up. I find myself on a hospital bed alone in a patient's room. How did I get here?

"Finally you are awake," a doctor says as he enters the room. He is tall and extremely built. He has brown hair and green eyes. He looks like he is in his mid twenties.

I remain silent. I do not want to say anything that will leave him with suspicion.

"I am Dr. Singe and I will be our doctor for your time here. Do you know how you got here?" He asks. I shake my head side to side.

He writes something down on his clip board. I stare at him wondering if he knows that I am different. Maybe he knows where Grayson is.

"Do you know why you are here?" He asks slowly.

"I fainted at school... I think," I respond. I am not even sure if I fainted to be honest. Grayson said it was wolfsbane.

"Well your friend, if he is your friend, is next door. You can visit him in a bit," he says.

"Thank you," I say staring at my hands now.

"You don't have to be scared," he says. I look up at him and put on a smile.

"I am not scared," I say.

"Then how come your heart is beating unusually fast?" He asks. He puts on a smirk and walks out the room.

He is a werewolf too. He was listening to my heartbeat the whole time. He knows that I am a werewolf.

11:25am

Twenty minutes go by and I have just been sitting here doing nothing. I have to get to Grayson so we can start our journey to find Ethan.

I notice that I am not attached to anything. I know that I can heal faster then a normal human, and Dr. Singe probably knows that. I get out of bed quietly and walk towards the door. I peak through the crack since Dr. Singe did not fully close the door.

I am waiting for the hallway to be clear. I look left, then right. I quietly open the door and step out. I quickly walk to the door to my left and read the sign that on the front of the door.

"Grayson Bailey Dolan"

I open the door slowly and step inside. I walk up to the bed and find Grayson laying there.

"We have to go," I said to him.

"Agreed but we can't just disappear. They are going to send people to find us." Grayson says back.

"Time is being wasted. Ethan needs us," I said back.

"I know. We will probably just spend a couple more hours here and we can go. We don't even know where to go from here so take this time to think Johanna."

I hear someone coming down the hallway and I instantly panic.

"Hide," Grayson whispers.

I run to his bathroom and close the door. I hear someone stomping into the room.

"Where is your alpha friend?"

Alpha friend?

"I am not sure Doc," Grayson says in a confused tone.

"Yes you do know. I need her to go back into her room," Dr. Singe says. I know it was him because his voice is familiar.

Everything goes silent and I am left with the sound of water droplets falling from the tap beside me. I hear someone walking up to the bathroom and standing in front of it. The door knob spins slowly. My heart is speeding up.

"Here you are," Dr. Singe says as he opens the door. I stand there and look at him.

"Come here," he says gently grabbing me by the shoulder and directing me to Grayson.

"You didn't know she was here?" He asks Grayson.

Grayson remains silent. I have to say something.

"I came in here. He told me to go back to my room but I didn't want to. This is my fault," I say looking up at Dr. Singe.

"Of course. The alpha always wanted to protect their pack," he says looking down at me.

"Alpha? I am not an alpha," I say.

"Are you serious?" Dr. Singe asks me. He turns and looks over at Grayson. "Is she being serious right now?"

"She doesn't remember," Grayson says which confuses me even more.

"Interesting," Dr. Singe slowly. "An alpha that doesn't know she is alpha." He is turning me around. We are both facing the mirror behind us.

We are looking at each other in the mirror. His eyes turn from green to red in a second.

"Shine your eyes," he says to me.

I let my eyes change colour from brown to... red. I am an alpha and I did not know. I am speechless. How did I become an Alpha? How did I not remember this?
