Chapter 30

Yuki's pov.

I watch as Kakashi summons Pakkun, who I haven't seen since the whole Gaara incident. I hated that we had no idea about this odd jutsu or even having to follow the few people who might know where Orochimaru's other hideouts might be located at. This whole mission wasn't sitting well with me and I frown a little at the thought of what this would mean for our village. Would it really be best for us to find Orochimaru if it means losing so many lives? Was it really a good idea to bring back Sasuke when he had left of his own free will? I shake my head to clear it only to realize that everyone had already started to move again. I wasn't really paying much attention to the conversation around me as I think on everything that was going on and the smallest sound makes me look in the direction it comes from. This wasn't going to work out well and it might be best if I spilt up from the others but I chase that thought away the moment I had it. Kiba would go crazy if I did so and I knew Kakashi wouldn't approve unless I give him a good reason for it.

When we stop for the night I sit in the back of the cave with my back pressed against it feeling a little uneasy. Kiba asks the question I wanted to but then again he had a worried look on his face as he looks at me and I look away a little annoyed that he was treating me this way. I was sitting by Kakashi and I feel Akamaru's fur rub against my hand as I listen to Kakashi talk. Akamaru whimpers before licking my hand before yipping lightly. I knew he was trying to help lighten the mood of everything as if he could sense that something was wrong with me. "Let's get some sleep." Kakashi says before he looks over at me. I huff and roll my eyes and stand before walking over to the opening of the cave. "I'll take first watch." I say as I sit down and Kiba frowns a little before smiling when Akamaru lies between us. Everyone starts to fall asleep but I could tell that Kiba was waiting for the others so he could talk with me about kame knows what. He moves closer to me now that everyone was asleep. "Snow?" he asks and I look over at him before back out of the cave.

"What's wrong Kiba?" I ask not really sure of what he wants from me. He was now sitting next to me Akamaru wrapped around us from behind keeping us a little warmer. "I wanted to know if you were up to this mission. It hasn't been that long since you fainted." Kiba says as he rubs my arm a little making my tense body relaxes a little. "Kiba get some sleep. I'll be fine don't worry too much." I say giving him a close eyed smile, one that Kakashi gave me often. He sighs before resting his head on my shoulder and falling asleep. I sigh and look around the best I can at everyone in the cave before letting my eyes fall back on the world outside. If this mission was all about finding Sasuke and Orochiaru's hide out then I could have done that easily seeing as how Kabuto should still have my kunai in his bag.

I wake the next person for watch and fall asleep quickly. When I wake the next morning I was a little uneasy, there was something about today that just felt wrong to me. As we were traveling Akamaru starts to whimper a little making us all stop to find out what was wrong. We had lost them, the people that were our only lead due to the rain. Shino brings up that he could be helpful with his bugs seeing as how they might be immune to the enemy's jutsu. I frown a little, I wasn't really a fan of letting him go off on his own but Kakashi allows it and I frown a little but hide it as he looks over at me. I shake my head and follow behind Kiba hoping that he wouldn't question me at all. Akamaru pauses again and Kiba says that it was because of a dog whistle. I frown a little as I look over the dog who was standing faithfully by Kiba.

It was a little unnerving that the enemy would be using a dog whistle if they had no dog and the fact that they are close to us but we have no idea where. Hinata and Kakashi even looked worried and I sigh softly before sitting on the branch before closing my eyes. 'Yuriko I need a little help here.' I say and she giggles in my mind before helping me search for where the enemy's might be hiding. I had gotten better at this but I could feel hands on my shoulders and even on my head. I growl lightly before opening my eyes to look right into Kakashi's. "Why?" I ask as he pulls me to my feet and he shakes his head a little. "Now isn't the time for this. I know what you're trying to do but Yuki this isn't the time for it." Kakashi whispers in my ear and I scowl at him before nodding my head and looking over at Kiba who was looking worried. "I'm ok really. I was just trying to see if I could find the people we are tracking." I say as I lift my mask to give him a bright smile to help him relax a little and drop it back down not long after.
